To the Editor: I just received our latest Victoria Gazette and I noticed that one of our ads has a misspelling. It's the ad that lists all of the companies we represent and says "$$$SAVE MONEY$$$" at the top. Could you please help us correct this? Thanks, and have a great Fourth of July. To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I've been skimming through the Gazette now for over three years and I have noticed a vibe of small-town feel and conservative news, more rightwing news than left. Victoria and surrounding communi-ties have been largely growing, as with the business and growth all over in gener-al. I am curious about how the Gazette is going to change with that, or is it? Being that I've read articles of pro-life, I haven't seen anything pro-choice and other various topics. So I am asking, how are you going to bring the entire public into the newspaper, in a fast growing community together and not separate the right from the left, or visa-versa. How do you as an editor take all the different views and write a story that's not in what you feel it should be, but to teach both sides about each other? I am very curious what the Gazette has in store for the future and what exciting positive things are going to be happening? In these times of change, "Lord, grant us to accept the differences of new life and people that come into our lives during this time of change and growth." Sincerely, Jeremy St. Germain Shakopee, Minnesota
EDITOR'S NOTE: Just like all those other little sparrows, I've never worried much about the future. Today is full enough for me. What will be, will be. I try to stay away from labels and stick with the truth. Seems to be a successful (even positive!) formula.
To the Editor: It's county fair season again. Sum-mer is buzzing by fast! I can still picture Mom with a trunk full of veggies, flow-ers, antiques, and sewing things to enter at the fair and, as usual, Ma comes up to get her entries on the last day and she makes out like a bandit. Lots of blue ribbons! One day Ma told me that as a kid she entered a cow at the fair and it escaped. Ma said she chased all over the fair-grounds with that cow and she finally found her in the mud. Ma said she got just as muddy as the cow! I'm "armed" with pen and paper and went fishing. Found the fishhook on page 21 on the swimmer's arm. Keep cool. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks so much for printing the articles and photographs I submitted last month regarding Chapel Hill Academy's Art Festival and Cougar Classic Track Meet. They looked great, and I know our parents and students are always excited to see their names and photographs in the paper. Unfortunately, the information I originally sent had errors. Kasey Liebeg was incorrectly identified as the daughter of Kevin and Kitty Liebeg. He is in fact their son. He was awarded two superior ribbons, not one. I sent a corrected version but it must have gotten lost in the rush to deadline. Nina Wallestad Chapel Hill Academy Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: I just saw the Gazette! Thank you so much for writing the article on the first annual Concerts in the Park series. Your pictures are wonderful. Planning for this series began nine months ago, and it's nice to see such a large number of people enjoying themselves on the very first night. Thanks again for sharing this great event in the paper. Kristy Mock, Parks & Recreation Supervisor Victoria, Minnesota
