To the Editor: Enclosed is a check for two years' subscription to the Victoria Gazette. I enjoy all the articles in it, especially when you print photos from the past, which I cut out and save. A while back you printed an old photo of my dad and mom, John and Marge Boll, in "Johnny's Place," a 3.2 bar they owned in the '50's and '60's. I remember the Victoria Vics coming in after ballgames and singing, "Go, Victoria! Go, Victoria! Go! Go! Go!" Mike Wartman's articles are always interesting. I loved the one on my sisters, Mickey and Jacqui. Your cover feature on Dave and Rosie Williams (another of my sisters) after their 40th wedding anniversary was especially good. Those two have always opened their home and cabin to sisters, cousins, and friends. It can never be said that you go away hungry from their place. Thanks to everyone instrumental in saving the historical St. Victoria Catholic Church where my parents, myself, and several sisters were married. Oh, congratulations to my cousin Elizabeth Diethelm for all she does in my hometown. By the way, Sue, I received my February issue of the Gazette on March 1st! I guest the postal service down here just doesn't realize how important that paper is. Nancy (Boll) Lind Brighton, Tennessee
To the Editor: Enclosed is a check for $15 for another year of the Gazette. You put out a fine paper. You make it harder each month for us "old people" to find the fishhook. After going through the paper three times, I finally found it in the Metro Ford ad on page 13 as part of the shamrock. What a neat place to hide it! Happy St. Patrick's Day. Doris Strom Excelsior, Minnesota
To the Editor: Happy Easter. Hard to believe it's Easter time already. It won't be long and the BBQ will be in full force, as well as motorcycles, bikes, skateboards, roller-blades, and mosquitoes. I'm close to Highway 212 so I hear motorcycles all spring, summer, and fall, and also the occasional train and it doesn't bother me at all. Open the windows and get a whiff of Chaska cinemas, popcorn, and Chaska Bakery's baking endeavors and the eats of all the local eateries! Sometime I can smell the cookies baking in the halls of the apartment where I live. The Grannies (I call them the Grannies) are baking away again. (Sometime I call them the Golden Girls. They get a kick out of it.) When the yard is being raked, don't be surprised to find a fishhook in that patch of clover on page 13!! Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: You do a great job. Very interesting paper. Thanks. Rose Laumann Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks for the memories in your February Gazette. Hard to believe it's 20 years ago since Bede and my life changed so much. I'm living at the Crossings and loving my new home. Thanks, Sue. Stop in some time. Lois Boll Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: Just a note to thank you for the music at my brother Roger's funeral Mass. I was going through the funeral books of my folks and noticed this is the third member of our family you have played for. Your music is appreciated. Wilbert and Darlene Kelzer Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. We can't wait sometimes for the best paper to be delivered! Keep the good work up. Your paper covers a lot and I enjoy it ever so much. Have a "Hoppy" Easter. Toni VanEyll Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: We've enjoyed the paper for another year! Keep us on the mailing list. Found the fishhook on page 13 in the Metropoli-tan Ford ad in the shamrock. George and Eileen Koehnen Excelsior, Minnesota
