VICTORIA PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY.

Located on the east side of Bavaria Road next to the Hartman Tree Farm, the property has now been graded, trees have moved and replanted, grass has been seeded, and the asphalt drive has been installed along with striping to indicate parking spaces.

Ann Mahnke, Director of Victoria Parks and Public Works, said the facility is ahead of schedule.  The city's Public Works staff could be operating from this site by the end of November.  For the first time, the city's Public Works equipment will not be parked outdoors through the winter months.

THE FOSSUM HOUSE.  Hello.  My name is David Fossum, age 68, son of Henry Fossum Jr who was born and raised in Victoria by his father Hank Fossum Sr.  My dad's mother died giving birth to him so Hank remarried to Pearl Plocher.  Hank Sr was a mechanic and owned a service station in Victoria.  He was also a school bus driver.

The senior Fossums lived in the house right on the main intersection of Victoria.  It is still there.

I'm sending this letter to you, as I am trying to locate some of the Plocher family.  I have come in possession of several old photos of Plochers and some Fossums from the 1930's.  I do not know any of these folks, and I hate to discard the photos without trying to find family who might want them.

If you can pass the word, maybe someone will respond.  Any help you can give would be appreciated.  My dad died two years ago.  He was 84.  He joined the Navy in World War II, stayed in for 20 years.  We moved around a lot, settling in California.  Thank you.

Would it be possible to get a copy of the story you did on Hank and Pearl Fossum?  I don't have a lot of history on my dad's side.
