The Victoria

GAZETTE

November 2010

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Let’s run the same ad as last month.  Our lunches have been really strong.  I like to think our ad in the Gazette has a lot to do with our success.  Thank you.

To the Editor:

We invite you to be our guest at a special seminar at the Oak Ridge Conference Center in Chaska.

John Sullivan, Economic Development Director of the Carver County Community Development Agency, will focus on current developmental transactions in Carver and Scott Counties.

From a slightly broader, state level perspective, Dan McElroy, Commissioner with the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development, will discuss the economic conditions in our communities.

There is no cost for you to attend.  Registration, networking, and a continental breakfast buffet begin at 7:30 a.m.  We look forward to having you join us.

To the Editor:

On Wednesday, October 20th, 125 fifth grade kids from Victoria Elementary School made a trip to the Carver County Historical Society.  We helped them make corn dolls out of corn shucks.

In addition, I gave them a short talk about the Victoria area and how corn was planted and harvested when I lived on the farm, and they all knew where the Victoria Dairy Queen is.  I also told them where the old Victoria Public School was and that the building still stands as a location of several businesses, just east of the KleinBank.

Our County Commissioner Randy Maluchnik also volunteered in another area of the Historical Museum.  We were so busy that we did not see him.  But I did get to meet and chat with your neighbor, Jan Velasco.

To the Editor:

Just a note to let you know how we enjoyed reading about your cruise -- “Ocean’s Eleven” -- in the October issue of the Gazette.  It was very interesting and we felt we were right there with you.  Thanks again for sharing this wonderful trip.

To the Editor:

I’m sending you a check for my Victoria Gazette subscription.  Keep up the good work.  I love reading about your family and keeping up on the Victoria news.

To the Editor:

The Victoria Fire Department is beginning preparations for our annual ice fishing contest at Stieger Lake.  One of our integral elements of communication and promotion is the Victoria Gazette.  We are looking to advertise in the December and January issues and then do our thank you in the March issue.  I want to be cognizant of your submission and deadline dates for our work plan.

We are always appreciative of your support for the department and look forward to working with you in making this year’s contest, as well as all future events, a success.  Thank you.

To the Editor:

On election night, the results will be posted on Carver County’s website at www.co.carver.mn.us as totals become available.  Please feel free to call if you have any questions.
