To the Editor:

Fishing was good for us last month in the minnow bucket.  Thanks for the ten dollars.  We will use it for fun.  The hook this month is on page 35 under the baseball bat.  That is no fish story.

To the Editor:

Good afternoon.  Just got a got a call from Allina Hospice.  Lenny Koehnen is under hospice care at home so please keep the Koehnen family in your prayers.  I’m sure they will appreciate it.

To the Editor:

Happy Halloween.  Hope the weather is nice for the little spooks to go trick and treating.  As I’m paging through and reading all the good articles in the Gazette, what do I see on the baseball bat on page 35?  The fishhook.  Have a nice day.

To the Editor:

The Victoria Business Development Committee will be hosting biannual meetings with business owners to discuss topics of importance to the business community.  The agenda for this meeting includes transportation updates, business promotions, city marketing efforts, parking update, and downtown projects.

This is also a great opportunity to network with other Victoria businesses.  We would be happy to have you in attendance.

To the Editor:

Harriet and I were having lunch at the Victoria House October 19th and we sat next to two ladies and could not help overhear them talk, and when they spoke about their trips to Sweden, I could not help but speak a bit of Swedish to them and we were glad we did.

The 90+ year old young lady had grown up in the Ghent area moved away long before you were born, but she knew a lot about you.  So you drove the tractor, eh?  The lady subscribes to the Gazette and her name is Betty Bridge.  Her maiden name was Semlow but said you wouldn’t remember her family.  Betty is 96; her brother George is 93.

The lady with her was from Mounds View and we had a most pleasant chat.  Now I have another person to add to my Andrew Peterson email list.  She is Baptist and I had just received an article from Jo Mihelich about the old Baptist Church that once stood near Lake Waconia and now is a chapel on the Campus of Bethel University, and have sent her a copy.

To the Editor:

Hello, Sue.  I hope you are having a good time visiting family.  People need to get away and have some private time.

I’m sure you know of the latest improvement planned for the baseball field at Lions Park this year that was brought up at the Victoria City Council meeting on October 13th.  Yes, we are going to get a new scoreboard donated to us by Steve Salz and KleinBank.  This will be great for all the people who come and watch all the teams that play at the field.

Steve Salz is a guy who used to live in Victoria.  His kids go to Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria and he owns Laser Control.  He’s a very nice guy who feels that if you are blessed, you should give back.  His daughter has a great voice and is singing all over the place.  His son plays baseball, basketball, and runs cross country at Holy Family.  He just took first place in the sectional to go to State.

Thank you very much for the write-up in the last issue of the Gazette.  Talk to you soon.  Hope you have a safe trip back to Minnesota.  The weather is nothing to brag about, cold and rainy, so enjoy yourself.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  I am working full time teaching now and doing just a bit of massage now.  I have been so happy to hear how many people have seen my ad in the Gazette over the years.  We have a treasure in you and the paper you created in this community.
