You might not suspect it, but there are several lakes out near Tioga, North Dakota. They don’t look like Minnesota lakes because there are few or no trees and brush on the shorelines. Well, for that matter, there are not many trees and brush anywhere out in that neck of the woods. Did I say woods? Oops. But there are fish in them thar lakes and fresh walleye is available on the menu of the local marina, which is called Lund’s Landing.

Did you see where I hid the fishhook in the Gazette last month? It was in the irrigation story of Poppitz Field at Lions Park, wrapped about the baseball bat on page 35. It wasn’t wet then. Now it’s wet. Jennifer Duerkop of Victoria wins the $10 drawing since ‘twas her name pulled from the minnow bucket. Congratulations, Jennifer D.
