Letters Continued

March 2010

To the Editor:

Jim Hamburge’s retirement has activated a board search for a new president for Holy Family Catholic High School.  While a search is being conducted, Kathie Brown will serve as interim president.  Kathie is our principal and is fully capable of taking on these additional responsibilities, including maintaining and strengthening Holy Family’s connection with the broader community.

Kathie will communicate well with the board as she undertakes these expectations.  At the same time, her mission as principal and dedication to the students and their families will not be compromised.  As a board we are delighted with Kathie’s leadership and willingness to help out at this time.

To the Editor:

I am helping LaVonne Kroells at Carver County Red Cross with PR for Red Cross Month in March.  Please see the attached press release regarding Lifesaver Saturdays for people interested in learning Red Cross-certified CPR and First Aid techniques.  The sessions will be held in various locations around Carver County.  More information is available at www.carvercountyredcross.org or 952-467-4449.

To the Editor:

Howdy doo, Sue.  I found the enclosed article about Janie Jasin in a senior citizen magazine.  I never knew she was a tour guide at General Mills in the 1960s.  Maybe you could get permission to print it in the Gazette.

To the Editor:

Thank you so much for the “special delivery” package of your great Victoria newspaper.  I did not get it until the last week of January and was worried about my mail arriving here, which is another story.  Hope to hear soon about your experience in the little house on the ice that sleeps six.  We had a little house that slept four and had lots of fun and fish.

         Love, Bonnie Fritz

To the Editor:

I loved your story on Ansca and Maureen and Bill Bonner.  It is an inspirational message to all of us who see something that we dream about helping with but believe that it is “impossible” to do.

To the Editor:

We subscribe to your paper.  I couldn’t find your phone number on your website to call you.  Right now your paper is sent to our library, but I’m requesting that you delete “library” on our address label and add Michael Norton’s name.  Please confirm.  Thank you.

To the Editor:

I thought I might as well forget the snow and go fishing.  Lucky that I made a catch on page 11 in your February Gazette in the Century Wine ad where you hid the fishhook.  I and many others are tired of all the snow we’re getting.  Piles of snow are so big you can hardly get the shovel up high enough.  Thank you for all your Gazette work!

         Think of golden sunbeams

         and morning in the sky,

         think of apple blossoms

         and bluebirds flying by,

         think of quiet pathways

         and dancing mountain streams,

         think of sleepy valleys

         and rainbows painting dreams,

         think of hidden meadows

         where happy robins sing,

         and soon we’ll know firsthand

what thoughts of spring can bring.
