To the Editor:

Got the Gazette last night.  Wow, Wow, and Wow!   The story on Mom -- Ethel Ausink the Centenarian -- is just fantastic.  You did such a marvelous job.  Your writing is so good.  It covers everything without too much boring detail and yet is complimentary and informative.  The pictures turned out great.  I love that you placed Mom and Dad on the front.  It just took my breath away.  We read the paper to Mom and she really perked up at that.

Also, loved the online page on Mom in Sue's Album.  I had no idea you took a picture every year.  I hadn't seen many of them.  Thank you for all your work and the extra Gazettes.  I will be sending them to family members out of state.  People are asking about her.

I'm going to try the Lemon, Ricotta, Almond Flourless Cake recipe.  I love recipes!  I also enjoyed the drawing by your daughter Jenny (instead of Addie).  Great memory, I'm sure.  Merry Christmas to you and your family.

         Corie Boyer, Excelsior, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Thank you so much, Sue, for a truly heart warming, love filled December issue of the Gazette.  It was a pleasure to read.  The local business ads were all full of Christmas spirit.  Soon we'll be having a "Blind Date with a Book" sale sponsored by Ruby's Roost Bakery (February 10th) and School of the Wise (February 11th).  Otherwise, just visit the Blind Date cart at the Victoria Library anytime in February.  Thank you, Sue, for all you do.

To the Editor:

What the hell is going on in Victoria?  Where did your mayor come from and how did he get elected in a small but growing town like Victoria?  What was his platform before the election and what were the voters thinking?

Dividing the town like this is horrible.  Bullying people will never work.  He and his friends don't  know what communication and cooperation mean.  They should look it up.  It would change things for better.

Hopefully all voters will learn from this and become educated about prospective politicians before elections.

I look at Victoria as my second hometown.  I always say that at one time I was related to all of Victoria -- the Diethelms, the Notermanns, Schmiegs and Schneiders, etc., are all my relatives.  My mother was Helen Diethelm, a wonderful lady.

Sue, your paper is a tremendous asset for Victoria and the whole community.  Keep up the good work.

         Harry Bongard, Eden Prairie, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Hope all is well with you.  The Gazette provides much digestible, detailed, and accurate coverage of Victoria City Council meetings.  Thank you.

         Jon Carlsonk, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Good morning.  I wanted to share my happy story about Victoria Flats.  I've just moved in and absolutely love my new home.  I am absolutely thrilled with all the downtown restaurants, walking trails, dog parks, and other amenities.  I'm very happy to call Victoria home.

         Michelle Barnes, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to the next Gazette in a warmer part of the country.  Please change our address.  Have a Happy New Year.

Gary and Joanie Geurts, Edmond, Oklahoma

To the Editor:

Today recalls sad memories of a loved one gone to rest, and those who think of her today are the ones who loved her best.  Rest on, dear grandmother, thy labor o'er, thy willing hands will toil no more.  A faithful grandmother, both true and kind, a truer grandmother you could never find.  For all of us you did our best, and now God grants you eternal rest.

Donna R. Schneider is sadly missed by her grandchildren.  The above poem was published one year after her own grandmother's death, so I would like the same for her.  Many blessings.
