The Victoria

GAZETTE

December 2011

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Thank you for your coverage and pictures of the Victoria Downtown Halloween Party on Saturday, October 29th, in your last Gazette.  The event was co-sponsored by the Victoria Lions and the Victoria Business Owners Association.

I would like to recognize some of the people who were involved.  A special thank you to Frankenstein (Randy Maluchnik) for his monstrous appearance.  Also, a big thank you to the Carver County Mounted Posse who interacted with the kids, Mike Klingelhutz with the pumpkin donation, Fresh Seasons Market with the hotdogs and s'mores donation, School of the Wise with the hot chocolate donation.

Thank you to Jerry Michel who lent the straw bales for the decorations.  Thank you to the local businesses who participated in the business Trick or Treat.  Also, hats off to the City of Victoria for assistance with the street closure.

The family event wouldn't be possible without the volunteers from the Lions and the VBOA.  Thank you!  Thank you to Randy Miller, President of the VBOA, who co-chaired with me this event.

To the Editor:

We are currently working with the owners of the Notermann Building by marketing their property "For Sale" as well as "For Lease."  My objective is to reach as many property owners in and around Victoria as possible, to let them know that one of the most treasured properties in the area is on the market and available for them to own.  Who should I contact with the Gazette to find out about your advertising costs and requirements?  Thanks for your help.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  When does your January issue come out?  We'll soon be having an Open House.  I just returned from a mayor's luncheon.  I had the privilege of hearing mayors from Victoria, Chanhassen, Carver, and Chaska.  Wow!  Servant leadership at its finest.

To the Editor:

The Gazette is a very interesting newspaper.  I was wondering if you would have time on Thursday, November 3rd, to chat with the Drew boys.  The Drews are coming to Chaska for a family gathering and would be interested in seeing you and your newspaper, since they lived in Victoria and the Victoria area for many years.

Would it be convenient to see you or meet with you someplace in the area?  I know this is short notice, but the idea just came to us last week.  Thank you for this consideration.  Can we meet for lunch somewhere in Victoria?  I'm putting it in Ron Holtmeier's hands as to the location.  We're shooting for noontime and looking forward to chatting with you.  Thank you.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Hi, Bev.  I'm glad I suggested to meet at my place.  It would have been difficult to sit at the same table  in a restaurant and talk and eat together into the afternoon.  Thank you for your story.  Merry Christmas to you and the whole Drew family.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Your November editorial reflections on "little people" drew my thoughts to our new (9-month old) granddaughter Kaysie.  We received a picture of Kaysie in her bunny suit for Halloween.  She was precious as she sucked on her "carrot."  The little people (grandchildren) are very special the older we get.  Thanks for your reflections.

To the Editor:

I was very excited to receive your letter.  You asked for my email address.  I'm going to give you my mom's address.  I am very excited to submit my first article for the Gazette to you.  I was wondering how long you want it to be.  Also, will you be editing it and asking for rewrites if you decided to publish it?  Thank you.
