August 2011

The Victoria Gazette On Stage. Here are the photos I promised you from the Eden Prairie Players' production of "Bye Bye Birdie," where Mr. MacAfee of Sweet Apple, Ohio, is catching up on the news from Victoria, MN.  Hee Hee!  I love doing props.  Hee Hee.  The Gazette worked really well.  Stay cool.

Happy 60th. A 60th wedding anniversary Open House will be held for Sylvester and Dorleen Schmieg of LeCenter, MN, formerly of Victoria, on Sunday, August 21st, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the St. Victoria Parish Center in Victoria.  The couple's children are hosting the event.

Southwest Christian High School, an independent, interdenominational, evangelical Christian high school and member of the Association of Christian Schools International, recently purchased 29 acres of land bordering the southeast quadrant of Highway 212 and Bavaria Road in Chaska.  Construction for the new high school campus will begin immediately with occupancy expected during the 2012-2013 school year.

Founded in 1996 as a college preparatory high school emphasizing biblical worldview training, SWCHS currently serves 180 students from over 25 area communities at its present location in Chaska.  The new high school will serve up to 400 students in grades 9-12.

Three Graduating Grandsons. It's been a very exciting start to the summer for my parents, Dalles and Karen Notermann of Victoria, this year with three grandsons graduating, and I know they would love it if you would share the news and photos with all their friends and fellow readers of the Victoria Gazette.

Grant and Jason Moore (photo at left), grandsons of Dalles and Karen Notermann (also pictured) both graduated in May 2011 from the University of St. Thomas.  Grant (left) earned a degree in General Business Management and is employed by Group O.  Jason earned a degree in Computer and Information Sciences and has obtained a position with Accenture.

Paul Moore (photo at right), grandson of Dalles and Karen Notermann, was part of the first graduating class from Chanhassen High School in June 2011.  Paul will begin classes in the Ford Asset Program at Hennepin Technical College in the fall.

Grant, Jason, and Paul are the sons of Brenda (Notermann) and Tim Moore of Chanhassen.
