To the Editor:

My check is enclosed for another year of the Gazette. I like the paper.  You and the others who write for the paper most certainly have a gift with words.  Thank you.

To the Editor:

Hey, Sue!  It's that time again.  I enjoy your paper and all the articles in it, even though most of the names are not familiar anymore, but every now and then there are some that bring back memories.  The vocabulary words are great, even if I'll not remember them nor their definition.

         Happy Spring and God Bless.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  My apologies.  I just noticed that I gave you some incorrect information  for your March issue of the paper, about the Hwy 5 project.

Construction will start west of the Lakebridge/Krey Lakes development and extend to the western end of the project.  There will be breaks at public streets and driveways.  We will also be testing centerline mumble strips in a one-quarter mile rural segment."

The Victoria City Engineer is aware of this and we will have correct information at the public information meeting on March 10th.  It might be helpful if you could also publish a correction in your paper.  Also, I now have more details about the closure dates.  The forcemain and off-highway work will start in early May.  Hwy 5 will be closed on June 8th, so the impacts to through-traffic will not occur until then.  Also, we expect the project to be completed by September 3rd.

The media is invited to attend the annual Award Recognition Evening on Tuesday, April 28th, at the Carver County Emergency Operations Center in Chaska.  We will be presenting over 66 awards to Sheriff's Office employees and citizens to include one Purple Heart and 16 lifesaving awards.  Many of the nominees receiving awards this year will include heroic acts of service by citizens of Carver County.

The Sheriff's Office receives nominations throughout the year of meritorious and noteworthy actions by our employees and citizens.  The Awards Committee, which is comprised of Sheriff's Office employees from various divisions in the office, will be presented at the ceremony.  We hope you are able to join us.

To the Editor:

Just a note to say, Sue, that you have a great paper.  The special column in the March issue of the Gazette was Mike Wartman's on becoming a grandparent.  He is so on the mark.  Thank you for a great paper.

To the Editor:

In February the American Dental Association sponsored Give Kids a Smile Day.  We're proud to say that 15 Midwest Dental offices in Minnesota participated, providing more than $66,000 in free dental care to underprivileged children.  In total, 19 dentists and more than 70 team members gave their time.

Midwest Dental offices worked closely with local public health agencies, area schools, Head Start programs, nonprofit agencies, and youth and community organizations to identify children in need.

Midwest Dental provides complete family dentistry for patients of all ages and has locations throughout Minnesota, including in Victoria.
