To the Editor: Attached is an article on the Osprey Reintroduction Program that Three Rivers Park District has been involved in for many years, specifically at Carver Park Reserve in Victoria. If you have space and would like to include the article in your April issue of the Gazette, that would be great. I’m also attaching photos. The shot of the two birds on the nest needs to be credited to Jamie Strickland if you use it. Thank you for the nice layout of the Maple Syruping article in your March issue. At least 120 people enjoyed syruping at Lowry Nature Center this spring! Allison Neaton, Lowry Nature Center Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Do I have the wrong email? I don’t want an ad. I simply want to put something in the community events or church section that most papers have, or with the calendar, whatever is appropriate and is a free service to the community. Perhaps you don’t have a church section, but I do see an events section, without an email to submit things to, of course. I’ve been asked to help spread the word about this health conference. Thanks for any help. Tina Silverhorn Delano United Methodist Church Delano, Minnesota
EDITOR’S NOTE: My space isn’t free for me, as you probably know, and I must pass on a small portion of costs to those who might want to use that space. My reasonable rates, and other good things in the Gazette, are gifts to the community.
To the Editor: We will be returning to Victoria on March 30th so you may discontinue sending the Gazette to our Arizona address but please resume to our Victoria address. Many thanks. Ethyl Nelson Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am mailing you a $20 check for the Gazette paper. You do a good job. I am the grandmother of my great grandson Jamie Moore. You can put this in your paper if you wish. Blanche Bessel Bellel Plaine, Minnesota
To the Editor: Don’t let your spring cleaning dirty the environment. You can help avoid indoor air pollution by buying and using products that are free of toxic chemicals. Look for products that appear to disclose all ingredients and avoid ones that contain petroleum, phosphates, phthalates, triclosan, and benzalkonium chlorides. Greener alternatives are prepared with plant-based materials such as oils made from citrus, seed, vegetable, or pine. Basic soap and water keep surfaces as free of bacteria as antibacterial soaps. Baking soda works to clean sinks, tubs, and toilets. Vegetable oil with a little lemon juice works wonders on wood furniture. Use vinegar and water in a pump spray bottle for cleaning mirrors and shining chrome. Coriahna Young MN Pollution Control Agency
To the Editor: No use saying everybody loves your paper because thousands have told you that. Enclosed is $30 for renewal of subscriptions for my brother Father Fred, who is in Sherman, Illinois, and for me. My work is still the same as last year. I offer Holy Mass on Sundays, Holy Days, First Fridays, and some holidays -- all at 9:15 a.m. I have Mass monthly at Waybury and at Caric Cottages. I am anxiously waiting for warm weather when I can plant my tomato garden and flower gardens. I thank Jack Worm for cutting down a dead elm tree. Now my tomato plants have more needed sun. Take care and may God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit bless you. I hereby belatedly thank those kind people who sent me gifts at Christmas time. Father Conran Schneider Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Like Jackie Gleason would say, “You’re the greatest.” Love that Gazette! Betty and Jerry Trende Cologne, Minnesota |
