Talking Infrastructure in DC by Carver County Commissioner Randy Maluchnik.  “In mid May I had the opportunity to represent Carver County in Washington DC as part of the National Association of Counties ‘Infrastructure Week.’”

The Joy of a June Menu by Christie Schlueter, Regular Visitor to Victoria.  “Try something new this spring by trying this menu that has lots of flavors that are incredible.  Make this a Sunday supper or invite some friends over to share this menu.”

BeeHive Renamed Trouvaille Memory Care Suites by Tyler Stevens, Owner.  “We want to change the status quo when it comes to memory care and caring for seniors.  I look forward to providing innovative services through music, spirituality, etc., while maintaining the great home that we all know and love.”

Providing Shelter and Support to Kids in Chanhasen by Abigail Botten,  180 Degrees/MN.  “180 Degrees hosted an open house at its Hope House emergency youth shelter for homeless youth in Chanhassen.  180 Degrees helps by giving homeless youth a safe place to lay their heads and helping with long term plans while they continue education.”

Happiest County in the USA by Eric Sieger, Communications.  “Carver County ranks first as the Happiest County in the United States for the second consecutive year, and this marks the fifth consecutive year ranking in the top five.”

Partnership with MCWD for Arden Park Project in Edina by Laura Domyancich, MCWD Planner-Project Manager.  “Over the winter, demolition and in-stream work was completed.  The streambanks are stabilized and filled with seeds that are germinating.  Excavation for the new shelter, playground, and stormwater swales I underway in May.”

Standing Guard at Peace Officers’ Memorial in St. Paul by Erich Mische, MN Law Enforcement Memorial Association.  “Law enforcement officers from across the state stood vigil at the Memorial for 24 hours in honor of the 286 MN officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.”

Cow Field of Dreams by Mike Wartman, Former Resident of Victoria..  “The baseball field was adjacent to Chubby Aretz’s cow pasture, always wet, and it provided plenty of fauna to observe in the form of cattle, frogs, and bugs, as well as a playground of cow humps for racing and jumping.”

My Scottish Grandfather by Tom Abts, Deer Run Golf Pro.  “Sometimes it takes a while to understand the influences in our lives.  I’m not a young man, and I’m finally realizing what an influence my Scottish grandfather had on my life.  He’s probably why I play golf.”

Something Old, Something New by Tom Stumpf, Cowboy Correspondent.  “Did you know that you can get a marriage officiant certificate and instructions online?  The ceremony was short, to the point, and the looks of love passing between the loving couple were a thing of beauty.”

Scholarship Awards from Ridgeview by Lisa Steinbauer, Director of Marketing.  “Ridgeview Foundation is pleased to announce the 2019 recipients of a $2,000 Health Care Scholarship.  This year Ridgeview awarded $44,000 in scholarships to west metro students.”

In Victoria’s Elementary School by Jeremy Engebretson, Administrative Dean.  “On May 1st, students purchased leis and celebrated Hawaiian Day and contributed over $1,000 to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.  On May 20th, all students enjoyed their third annual garden planting day.”

In Victoria’s Winchester & Rye by Sue Orsen.  “It was a grand soft opening of the newest place in t own on the evening of May 9th, with over 100 invited guests, a full bar, and a full buffet dinner.  The transition from Victoria Creamery to Winchester & Rye is complete.”

20 More Inpatient Beds at Ridgeview by Lisa Steinbauer, Marketing Director.  “As the southwest metro region continues to grow, Ridgeview wanted this additional capacity to ensure Ridgeview can continue to meet the needs of the many patients and communities we now serve in a seven-county area.”

Awards Night for the Victoria Lions by Sue Orsen.  Melvin Jones Awards went to Chipo Peglow, Martin Teall, and David Thun.  Top Dog Awards went to Jack Hines, Chevy Rolf, Lindsay Schullo.

Improving Lakes and Creating Waterfront Park in Victoria by Bill Olson, MCWD Board of Managers.  “In partnership with the City of Victoria, the MCWD treated a pond on the west side of Wassermann Lake that contributes excess phosphorous to the lake and creates algae blooms during the warm summer months.’

Working to Secure Funding for Hwy 212 by Eric Sieger, Communications.  “Carver County’s recent efforts at landing federal grant money to support Hwy 212’s expansion to four lanes continues to receive positive feedback from officials.”
