To the Editor: Fall in Minnesota can take your breath away. The crisp air, blazing colors, tantalizing flavors of newly picked apples, -- all combine to make this a favorite time of year. Here at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum we offer many ways to have fun while feasting your senses on fall's beauty. Please see the attached press re-leases that detail upcoming events. I've also included a digital image of botanical paintings that will be featured in a fall exhibit. Please contact me for more photos, details, or story ideas. We hope you'll visit us this autumn. Barb DeGroot, MN Landscape Arboretum Chanhassen, Minnesota

To the Editor: Local residents Norbert Derhaag, Diane Meuwissen, Marge Roblling, and Elaine Williams of Victoria attended the 124th annual convention of the Catholic Aid Association held August 3rd and 4th at Saint John's University in Collegeville. They are delegates from the St. Victoria Catholic Aid Council. Elaine Williams, Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Wow, I am impressed with your paper. It's a great Gazette! Just to let you know we do want to run the ad again for September. Please change the expiration date of the coupon. Holly Maset, Edina, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. My wife has been having a problem with the balance of our checking account. "That dang Sue hasn't cashed the check yet!" she said. While looking for another misplaced item, she found an envelope containing the lost check. Make her happy. Cash it. Adrian Arlt, Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: I was on vacation last week and am still trying to catch up. Contrary to national and state reports, our little slice of heaven is busy with construction. I'll come up with a column for the October (gulp) issue of the Gazette. Tom Gray, Victoria Building Official Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: A new member of the Carver County Sheriff's Mounted Posse is Dale McCall, a resident of Victoria, who was sworn in on Wednesday, August 15th. The Posse is a volunteer organization that assists the Sheriff's Office with security and crowd control, search and rescue missions, com-munity relations and outreach activities, as well as special missions as assigned. New members are always welcome. Members must have a horse and a means to transport it. In addition to attending monthly meetings, members and their horses are required to participate in several training programs throughout the year. A Carver County residence is not required in order to be a member. Those interested in becoming a member are welcome to attend one of the Posse's monthly meetings, which occur on the second Monday of each month. For additional information, please contact the Sheriff's Office at 952-361-1212. Sheriff Bud Olson, Carver County, Minnesota
To the Editor: I'm sorry to hear about the "landscap-ing by nature" that happened around your home. Mother Nature sometimes shares random acts of unkindness - like wind storms, bridges collapsing, and flooding. Peace and blessings. Frank Jones, Victoria, Minnesota EDITOR'S NOTE: I'd say that the collapse of the 35W bridge was mainly related to the work of man rather than the work of nature.
To the Editor: Please find attached a press release for your consideration. We are celebrating 550 years (1457 to 2007) of the Worldwide Moravian Church. Siobhan Young, Moravian Church in North America Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
