We stepped outdoors in continued silence, drawn like a magnet through the maze that now resembled, up close, an overgrown terrarium that had been tumbled upside down. Seemed a night-mare but we weren't walking in our sleep. The once magnificent maple tree that shaded our front door now stood like a naked and decapitated soldier. A few feet away twin soldiers that had withstood other wars were snapped like twigs as they saluted the storm. At least a dozen of our trees were mowed down. It seems that lightning does the ripping and wind does the snapping. Some of our next door neighbors suffered more than tree damage.
These clicks will show you the Summer Storm of 2007 as photographed and displayed in Sue's Album. Destruction at Every Turn.
