Primary Election.  Tuesday, September 12th, 2006.  Vote for your candidate of choice in the varied rotisserie.  In Carver County Commissioner District #3, which includes the City of Victoria and parts of Chanhassen and Chaska, the candidates include Paul Andrescik, Greg Boe, incumbent Gary Delaney of Victoria, Randy Maluchnik, Dan Rosenberg, Kirk Rosenberger, and John Siegfried.

Victoria Volksfest.  Saturday, Septem-ber 23rd, beginning at 12 noon in down-town Victoria.  Events all afternoon for people of all ages, culminating with Touch of Bavaria music from 5 to 7 and the Funk Junkies from 8 to midnight.

Open House at the newly expanded Vic-toria Fire Station and newly constructed Victoria Water Treatment Plant.  Satur-day, October 7th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the start of Fire Pre-vention Week.  Bring the entire family for both fun and education. 

Arboretum Book Sale.  Each year Friends of the Andersen Horticultural Library - located on the eastern doorstep of Victoria -- holds a sale of gently used books on all subjects from gardening to cooking, poetry, mystery novels, and how-to guides.   The sale is held Friday, Saturday, Sunday, October 6th, 7th, and 8th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Victoria Lions meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the Victoria Hall on Rose Street at 6:30 p.m.

Victoria Chamber of Commerce meets on an irregular basis.

Victoria Senior Citizens meet weekly on Thursdays at the Acorn House in Diethelm Park.

Victoria City Council meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Victoria Hall on Rose Street.  There are also special council meetings and workshops scheduled throughout the year.

Victoria Toastmasters meet the second and fourth Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.
