Garden Crawl Hosts.  Here are some photos from the Inaugural Garden Crawl held in Deer Run on July 27th.  About 50 people toured four neighborhood gar-dens.  Garden Crawl hosts include (l-r):  Stan and Chris Rud, Jonathan and Natalie Larson, Dan and Paula McQuillen, Jim and Nan Emmer.  We had perfect weather.  Here's a quote we thought you might like:  "Gardens, scholars say, are the first sign of commitment to a community.  When people plant corn they are saying, let's stay
here.  And by their con-
nection to the land, they are
connected to one another."

Two wolves.  One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.  He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.  One is evil.  It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.  The other is good.  It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, truth, compassion, and faith.  The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"  The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."
