Sally Stuckey 1785 Valley Ridge Trail South Chanhassen, MN 55317 952-361-6778 1) Occupation. I am a Nurse Manag-er at Ridgeview Medical Center for a med/surg inpatient and outpatient unit. I also teach a graduate course in Health Care Management for the University of Phoenix. 2) District 112. We have lived in Chanhassen for 9 years. 3) Family. I have 2 wonderful daughters. Andrea is 18 and is a freshman pre-med student at St. Ben's. Melissa is 13, an 8th grader at Chaska Middle School West. W also have a bischon, Misty. My mother lives in Eden Prairie, one sister in Chanhassen, and another sister in Waconia with her husband and 3 children. We are all very close and enjoy spending time together. 4) Interests. I am a Girl Scout Leader, love to spend time at our cabin in Ely, enjoy walking, tennis, skiing, reading and church. 5) Candidacy. I really feel I can con-tribute and make a difference in our School District, having recently worked in the District as the Health Coordinator for 5 years. I would be a great advocate for students, families, and employees. I have learned where improvements need to occur to strengthen our School District. 6) Books recently read: If Disney Ran Your Hospital by Fred Lee and 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper. Books to read: Punished by Rewards by Alphie Kohn and The Greatest Gener-ation by Tom Brokaw. 7) Luxury vs. Basics. I would con-sider basics to include staff, space, and supplies necessary for the learning experi-ence to occur. Luxuries in my view would include extra staff, space, and supplies that enhance the learning experience but are not absolutely necessary to have optimal learning, e.g., added administrators, added technical equipment, redecorating, extra space. 8) School libraries for the general public? Yes. Education should be pro-moted at all levels, even after K-12. This may be an excellent opportunity for parents and other adults to role model for our youth. 9) Both evolution & creation? Yes. I believe that the classroom teacher could create an environment for the students in which it is noted that we must respect all theories even though not everyone agrees with them. Parents can instill their family beliefs with their children in addition to the classroom teaching. 10) National Anthem. Yes. The National Anthem is a symbol of our coun-try and our students need to learn the tra-ditions that make them an American citi-zen.
