Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
I am writing today to inform you that our mother, Elinor Kerber, has died and you need to cancel her sub-scription.  She eagerly awaited each issue of the Gazette and it gave her many pleasant hours.  Thank you.

To the Editor:
The monastery out in Wessex was having a bit of a hard time with its cash flow because of the dwindling number of monks available to help with all the work of the group.
Brother Andrew and Brother Patrick suggested opening up a Fish & Chips stand down on the motorway, right next to the scenic vista area so popular with tourists.
The venture was going well, and one day a tourist asked the monk on duty, "Are you the fish friar?"
"No, sir," retorted the brother.  "I'm the chip monk."

To the Editor:
Greetings from Germany.  My husband and I are enjoying a wonder-ful vacation.  Thanks for the tickets I won at last year's Touch of Bavaria in Victoria.  Everything has been so fun, enriching, informative, etc., etc.

To the Editor:
I want to share this recipe with you and the readers of the Gazette.  It's called "The Best Zucchini Recipe Ever."
1 bushel zucchini
1 raincoat
1 pair of sunglasses
A moderately fast car.
Directions:  Go to a parking lot.  Drive around until you find an unlocked car.  Put the zucchini in the back seat and drive away FAST before you are discovered.

To the Editor:
We had a most delight day with Father Elstan.  After lunch we drove to Harbor Springs to see the remodeling of the Holy Childhood Church.  Father was the pastor there for six years.  They did an outstanding job of main-taining the architecture while expand-ing to accommodate the ever-growing crowds.  The changes were so impres-sive that Father Bob insisted that we drive downtown and buy a camera to take pictures so he could show the St. Victoria Church Committee.  I am getting the photos developed now.  You will find the improvements very interesting and some are great ideas for our new space at St. Victoria.
As for Father Elstan, he looked much better than other years -- good color, lots of people need him, plenty of visitors, and he seemed to be in less pain.  I think he's doing just fine.  I'd like to send him something for his birthday.  He wouldn't give me any ideas for gifts.  Got any?
