KleinBank employees raised over $30,000 for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The project began when KleinBank offered to match the contributions of their employees to help provide aid to hurricane victims. The Bank raised over $15,000 from staff members alone, which KleinBank matched, raising the total to over $30,000. The money is going directly to the American Red Cross to be directed toward families who suffered losses from Hurricane Katrina. According to Victoria resident Dan Klein, President/CEO of KleinBank, "We are proud to have a very generous and active staff, who are happy to give to those in need. This kind of generosity is a key component in our Mission Statement - of using our abilities to strengthen communities, to make a difference." KleinBank, headquartered in Chaska, is the largest family-owned state bank in Minnesota. The Klein family entered banking in 1907 when C.H. Klein bought stock in First National Bank of Chaska. Today KleinBank is made up of 18 banking locations, including Victoria, serving the north metro and western Twin Cities and western Minnesota, at the same time operating KleinMortgage, a mortgage company that serves the Midwest and Colorado. Victoria, Minnesota, USA News. Minnesota's latest record largemouth bass was caught Monday, October 3rd, 2005, in Lake Auburn, which is across the street from our home. The bass weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces, which topped the current record of 8 pounds 12.75 ounces. Lake Auburn was named after the Holtmeier-Gerdsen families. They settled in Laketown Township (now Victoria) in 1853. They came from a section of Cincinnati, Ohio, called Auburn and gave that name to the lake upon which their home overlooked.
