Water in the streets of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina was so putrid the fish were trying to jump out of it. That's sorta like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Sometimes there isn't a safe place in this world for man or beast. But considering the Summer of 2005, I'd say that one of the safest places to live is in Minnesota, choose land or lake! And one of the safest pastimes is looking for the fishhook hidden in each and every issue of the Victoria Gazette. Last month the fishhook was hidden on page 35 in the oil well picture in the article on "Oil for Food and China." Margaret Priebe of Bolivar, Missouri, had her name drawn from the minnow bucket to win the $10 prize. Congratula-tions, Margaret. I wonder how close you were to the hurricane winds of Katrina and Rita. There's another fishhook hidden in this issue of the Gazette. If you find it, and want to be part of the monthly draw-ing, drop a line to Box 387, Victoria, MN 55386, telling of its location, and sinker in the mail. If you're lucky, you'll keep on swimming in safe waters, regardless of whether or not you find the fishhook.
