Hook, Line & Sinker
by Sue Orsen

We rode the rough waves in the glass bottom boat, afraid of being smashed into the jagged rocks only a few feet away from us.  We were not interested in the fish clearly visible in the glass bottom of the rather small boat.  We were, I believe, faced with the possibility of getting killed.
We vacationed on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula two weeks ago -- at Cabo San Lucas, to be more precise.  Hurricane Xavier was grazing along the coast of the Baja, 200 miles from our vacation spot, and we felt his regurgitation of hot air and saltwater as he moved north.
If you want to see and know more about our fantastic September trip with our travel friends, John and Jan Flora of Fridley, go to www.VictoriaGazette.com and click on Sue's Album.  You'll see the editor riding an ATV (which has nothing to do with a TV) without the assistance of any earthly being.  We each were behind our own handlebars, navigating the hills and valleys of the Mexican countryside and the sandy beaches of the Baja.
But that is there, and this is here, which is where we are today.  So if you want to see and know where the fishhook was hidden in last month's Gazette, just look at the shrubs in front of the little house.  It was part of the State Auto insurance ad of Dave Barsness on page 34.  Lucky winner of the $10 drawing is Erwin Goethke of Waconia.  Hi, Erwin!  Spend it foolishly!
There's also a fishhook hiding in this issue of the Gazette.  If you find it, drop a line to me at Box 387 in Victoria, MN 55386, and sinker in the mail.  It'll make you eligible to the drawing from the minnow bucket.
Meanwhile, if you hear about a hurri-cane heading your way, rent an ATV.
