Hook, Line & Sinker
by Sue Orsen

When the lights went out on the East Coast last month, because of Isabel, one of the channels interviewed a lady who owned a pet shop.  She was able to keep all of the animals fed, watered, and stable after the horrible hurricane -- except her fish died.
I always thought of fish needing water to survive, not electricity.  But it seems that some fish need electricity even more than most humans -- at least fish that live in aquariums.  Aquariums need electricity to run filters and control the temperatures; otherwise those who are living in those glass houses will perish.  And I shan't be throwing any stones, because I need electricity too.
Just like with this Hook, Line & Sinker Contest, which needs the electricity that comes from knowing y'all like to hunt for the fishhook hidden in each and every issue of the Victoria Gazette. Last month it was hidden in a ring on page 26.  Indeed, 'twas in a Weinzierl Jewelry ad.  And the name drawn from the pool belonged to W. Brannon from Waconia.  Now I'm not sure if that W stands for Wilma or Wilbert, but the $10 will be on its way, in any case.
And since I'm still "hooked" up to electricity, tonight, I took a moment to hide the fishhook in this issue of the Gazette.  It you find it, drop a line to me at Box 387 in Victoria, MN 55386 and sink it in the mail.  And don't turn the lights out until you find it.
