To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I have a really cool project that is starting in your neck of the woods over Thanksgiving weekend and wanted to talk to you about it. I will be in town November 10th to finalize some training components for my training. I think you are aware that I have spent quite a bit of time in Africa for the past two years and that I am friends with Fr. Juniper and Brother Tony Droll. I believe you have not met Brother Tony yet in person, but have emailed or talked on the phone and have common friends. In a nutshell, I am bringing over eight Zambians for a month-long intensive training on the Business of Development. We begin our odyssey in Minnesota on Thanksgiving Day. I thought it might be cool to get some coverage on the training or maybe some interviews with my group. I would love to meet with you while I am in town in two weeks. Sandy Beddor via email
To the Editor: Drs. Dungey, Menser, and Associates are celebrating a significant milestone this November - 50 years of service to the communities of Waconia and Victoria. I've attached a press release with a little history and information about their up-coming Open House on Wednesday, November 15th, from 4 to 7 p.m. The celebration will be honoring the founder, Dr. Perry Dungey. Dr. Laura Menser mentioned that you are a patient of theirs and said you might be interested in developing a feature on this business in an upcoming issue of the Victoria Gazette. You're also welcome to attend the Open House and take photos, speak with the doctors about the practice, both when it began and the exciting direction it's headed today. Stephanie Josephs, Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: I encourage you to vote for Gary Delaney for Carver County Commissioner in District III on November 7th. Gary has made important contributions as a Com-missioner on the County Board in his first term and should be re-elected to a second term. Accomplishments of the County Board during Gary's first term include streamlining the county government by consolidating 26 departments in 7 divi-sions, maintaining steady county tax levels, and combining the Auditor, Treas-urer, and Recorder into one appointed position. Gary has also been a champion for creating a county economic development authority. This group will help Carver County communities create a unified plan to make Carver County a good place to work and do business. Gary makes well thought out deci-sions and gives 100% for his constituents. He is not interested in bringing partisan politics to the county level. His only con-sideration is what is in the best interest of the majority of county residents. The commissioner from District III is the only one who represents Victoria, so as a resident of Victoria, Gary is the per-son who can best represent our interests on the County Board. Please join me in voting for Gary on November 7th. Jerry Bohn, Mayor of Victoria
To the Editor: Each child educated in District 112 provides a positive connection to the con-tinued growth and success of our commu-nity. The connection, in part, will be reflected in an increase in our property taxes. That increase allows many positive things to happen for kids, schools, and our communities. Providing places to learn and grow. Reaching out to make a difference. Opportunities for all students. Putting a purposeful plan into action. Education Excellence. Responsible District use of dollars. Time to partner and pool resources. Yes to kids and education. Vote YES/YES. Today's building for tomorrow. A win/win for the community. X-ceptional quality. Expressing support for learning. Saying YES to kids and education. Vote YES/YES on Tuesday, November 7th, 2006. Be part of creating a bright future for the kids of our communi-ty. Natalie and Jonathan Larson Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Even though we are retired and no longer have children in District 112, we support the referendum for facility and program enhancement. A reputation for good schools is a factor for families as they make decisions as to where they will live. Good schools help make for a desir-able community which attracts viable businesses and quality employees. We urge you to support both questions of the referendum on November 7th. Conrad and Lois Fiskness, Chanhassen, Minnesota
