To the Editor:
Nice article about Steve Sarvi and me in your October issue of the Gazette.  Thank you so much.

To the Editor:
Having worked as a union railroader most of my life, we have but one rule in our house and that's Seniority!  My wife and I were born on the same day of the month, in the same year, and within 20 minutes of each other, with myself being the Older of the two of us.
This, of course, means that I have the Seniority, which in our household means I get to do whatever she tells me to do, when she tells me.  May not seem like much but, boy oh boy, the pay is wonder-ful.
We will be blessed with 61 years together this December, and that's just the married part of it.  We were in school together from the 4th grade on.  Also went through Harvard together.  That was when we visited the east coast … We walked through the gate, across campus, and out again.
Blessings.

To the Editor:
Turkey days are here again, cold and flu days too.  And dressing, mashed pota-toes, gravy, corn, finger rolls, pumpkin, pecan, banana cream, lemon meringue (Dad's favorite), strawberry, apple, and peach pies.  Head for the tums, the couch, and recliner after the oink fest and fall asleep.  There's a natural chemical in turkey that causes a person to fall asleep.
And then there's leftovers
- turkey soup, turkey hotdish, turkey ala king, turkey "sammiches," and Mom's all time classic after Thanksgiving or Christmas:  Turkey Chow Mein.  An 8-quart kettle full went to the freezer!
Ice fishing is not too far away.  Hard to believe.

To the Editor:
I'd like to use the school board candidates response to your question #5 in the September issue of the Gazette, about why they would want to include school board responsibilities in their lives.  I would give the Gazette credit as the source of the paragraph.  It would appear on our website through the election along with our polling places information, League of Women Voters Forum, etc.  Hope all is well with you.

To the Editor:
You probably already know this, but just thought I would pass this on because Shared Ministry is trying to assist families who have men or women who are involved in the military.  Joe Claeys and Jim Hay are members of St. Victoria Catholic Church.  Jim, I believe, is already gone and Joe, I am not sure when he leaves or if he already left.
Have a glorious day.  It's just glorious outside.  I think I will open my window to get some of that fresh air.

To the Editor:
Residents of Scott and Carver Coun-ties can call on CAP's crisis nursery for up to 72 hours of overnight care or up to five days of daycare for their children when the family is in crisis.  Crisis nur-sery care is provided by a licensed day-care provider for daytime care and/or a licensed foster care provider for overnight care.
Anyone needing crisis nursery care should call the 24-hour help line at 612-839-5101.  Crisis nursery care is one of more than 20 programs and services pro-vided by the CAP Agency, a private nonprofit organization serving children, families, and senior citizens in Scott, Car-ver, and Dakota Counties.
The CAP Agency also provides Head Start, Meals on Wheels, energy assistance, transitional housing, Food Shelf, Thrift Shop, and a variety of other programs and services to promote and sustain social and economic self-reliance for residents of the tri-county area.
For more information, call 952-496-2125 or visit www.capagency.org.

To the Editor:
I am a senior nursing student from the University of Minnesota and we are per-forming a community assessment of Vic-toria.  This is in conjunction with the public health nurses at the Carver County Government Center.
Part of this assessment requires assessing the communication systems available to residents of this city.  From references by Doc Schmieg at the Field House and the Victoria Gazette website, I realize that you are perfectly suited to pro-vide most of this information.
So I was wondering if you could please grant me an interview concerning communication systems in Victoria.  I could come over to your office, conduct a phone interview, or email you questions, depending on your preference.
My classmates and I would greatly appreciate any amount of help that we can obtain from you and will list you as part of our references.  Thank you very much for your anticipated cooperation.
