Did you ever hear of a Snakehead -- outside of James Carvill? I did. It happened one evening here in the comfort of our home theater when we were listen-ing to the Nature Channel, or is it called the Discovery Channel? Sometimes when you're surfing the channels, you're not sure just which wave you might be riding. Anyhow, I recall hearing that a Snakehead has recently been found in our nearby precious freshwater of Lake Michigan. I learned that a Snakehead is an invader, that it looks like a big fish, like a salmon or a tuna or large northern, but it is more unusual. For one thing, a Snakehead can breed on ground! Can you believe there is a fish that can live and survive on ground long enough to breed? And of course breeding is exactly what you do not want it to do. But you might want a Snakehead to swallow a large fishhook, a fishhook much larger than the harmless little thing you find hidden in the Victoria Gazette each month. Winner of the latest drawing and the $10 is Donald Klein of Waconia. Congratulations, Donald for spying the fishhook in the old phonograph near the Senior Citizens Column. The check is almost on its way. And now it's time to look for the new fishhook, the one hidden in this Novem-ber issue of the Gazette. When you find it you may drop a line to P.O. Box 387, Vic-toria, MN 55386 and sinker in the mail. On the way to the mailbox, watch out for the Snakehead. The ground between here and Lake Michigan is not as big as you think.
