"The Table is Set" continued

To the Editor:
As a member of the Victoria Park and Rec Committee, I have had the opportuni-ty to work with both the current candi-dates for mayor.  Both Rick and Jerry brought a desire to see Victoria's Parks and Recreation programs and facilities grow to meet future needs.
I saw that Jerry also welcomed questions and offered opinions based on common sense.  He views the future of the city with a positive outlook that welcomes the opinions of all of its citizens.  Jerry successfully owned and operated a business.  He knows that the sum total of the talents of a city's citizens and staff exceeds that of a few people with the same opinion.  I've seen Jerry work with both citizens and members of our staff.  He brings out the best of their ideas and dreams for our city.
We have not had a new leader in our town for a long time.  Our city faces many opportunities and challenges in the years ahead.  We need a leader who will engage everyone who interacts with our local officials and staff.  Jerry Bohn is that leader.

To the Editor:
After 44 years of service, Mr. Dahlke deserves our thanks and best wishes in re-tirement.  Simultaneous with his retire-ment, he designated a successor who has eight years experience working as an accounting analyst at a local company plus a BS in accounting.
Fortunately, the citizens of Carver County can elect Tom Kerber who has
30 years of experience as Chief Financial Officer and Controller with large com-panies across different industries plus a BSBA and MBA in Business.
We have known Tom Kerber for over 40 years.  He is a high integrity person who can be trusted to work for the citizens.  He listens, he asks questions, he leads by example, and he knows that success is based on teamwork.
Tom's business background is well suited for the challenges that a growing county will face over the next 20 years.  He knows government improvements take time and require teamwork and persis-tence along with a focus on improving customer service both internally and externally.
His honesty, integrity, and business ethics are first rate.  He is not afraid to challenge the status quo and he is not afraid to challenge others to even greater successes.
Please join us in electing a treasurer with experience who can work for the citizens of the county to protect and invest your cash.  Please join us in voting for Tom Kerber as Carver County Treasurer.  He is the "People's Choice."

To the Editor:
I strongly support Richard Tieden, mayoral candidate for Victoria.  Mr. Tieden's vision in bringing a sports and activity complex to our community is what I like to see in our community leaders.  Mr. Tieden has listened to all sides and has made responsible decisions about the current complex and planning for the future.
Our city and our families need Mr. Tieden as our mayor and community leader and he will have my vote come November 5th.

To the Editor:
"You have to understand change and analyze its possible effects."  So states Rick Tieden.
Some people move to a community
to live, and others come and help shape the community as it evolves.  To under-stand the many people and their needs, you must become involved in your town.  Rick Tieden moved to Victoria and be-came involved.  Rick joined the Men's Softball League.  He joined the Victoria Lions and is a very active member who cooks at the Pancake Breakfasts.  He also cooks at the Lions Softball Tournaments and volunteers at Holy Family's Spirit of Fire fundraiser.
Rick Tieden also found time to run for and win a seat on the Victoria City Council.  With leadership and vision, he has helped ensure that youth and other active members of the community have a place to gather, have fun, and stay healthy.
The hockey arena and gym have been difficult choices.  Rick Tieden has mete these challenges.  Using thoughtful and conservative analysis, he has helped form a vision of Victoria.  That vision is now reality.
There are many challenges ahead for Victoria.  Chose a conservative leader with vision.  Choose Rick Tieden.

To the Editor:
I write this letter on behalf of Terry Bishop.  I have known and worked with Terry for five years as a lawyer, and I know him as a colleague and a friend.  While I believe it would be inappropriate for me to speak about political issues in the City of Victoria, I am comfortable with speaking to the issue of Terry Bishop's integrity, ability to deal with complex issues, and his record of com-munity service.
Terry is honest, forthright, and capable of seeing and understanding other people's point of view.  He has been recognized as one of Minnesota's best lawyers.  He has the respect and trust of people with whom he deals in the judicial system and with the firm to which I am of counsel.
Terry Bishop has handled complex litigation matters and complex arbitration and mediation matters.  He is a reader of history.  He is devoted to his family.
In short, I know Terry Bishop, a candidate for the Victoria City Council.  I like him and respect him for being the fine person he is.  Thank you for your kind attention.
Sincerely,
