"The Table is Set" continued

the appropriate infrastructure needed by its residents.  Growth like ours demands careful strategic planning and implemen-tation, coupled with fiscal responsibility.
We believe Todd Corbo's back-ground is appropriately suited to create a visionary plan for Victoria's growth while ensuring its financial viability.  Victoria's downtown is ready for commercial devel-opment that can draw additional revenue to the city and relieve residents of tax bur-dens.
The growing population will also re-quire an elementary school and public library.  Future annexations of neighbor-ing townships, and the resulting infra-structure upgrades, need to be managed with financial restraint and watchful eye to protect the financial solvency of the city.  All of these items are the highlights of Todd Corbo's platform.
Todd Corbo has the education, busi-ness experience, and energy needed to guide Victoria residents into the future.  He is honest, approachable, and commit-ted to serving his community.  We believe he will spend the time to learn the issues, listen to constituents, challenge when appropriate, and seek out creative and responsible means to accomplish our goals.
We encourage Victoria residents to elect Todd Corbo to the Victoria City Council on Tuesday, November 5th.

To the Editor:
The City of Victoria has many growth initiatives before it, including the continued development of the field house, the downtown redevelopment, the south-side annexation and its supporting infra-structure, to name just a few.  Our new mayor will be instrumental in the progress and completion of these endeavors in a timely and fiscally responsible manner for Victoria.
I strongly believe Jerry Bohn is the most qualified person to lead Victoria forward as our new mayor.  Jerry has been your city councilmember for the past six years.  No one has dedicated more time to understanding the financial underpinnings of the complicated city budgets than Mr. Bohn.
Over the years he's been vigilant about a balanced city budget and ensuring that our financial reserves are kept intact and used for the purposes originally intended.  He's delved tirelessly into the details of complex bonding issues and the city's tax base.
I have had the pleasure of working with Jerry for the past five years, on both the Planning Commission and the City Council.  In that time, I have come to appreciate Jerry's business acumen, his willingness to always ask the tough financial questions, and his pledge to insure the community is not overburdened with taxes.  While Jerry has many good qualities, I think the one characteristic that I admire most about him is his listening skills.
Jerry Bohn is a veteran city council-member and has done his homework to prepare himself to assume the role of mayor.  As we enter into a new chapter for the city, your support and vote for Jerry Bohn on November 5th is much appreciated.

To the Editor:
In an attempt to try something differ-erent this political season, I'd like to offer reasons to vote for two candidates, Gary Delaney for Carver County Commissioner and Carver County Sheriff Bud Olson.  I have been privileged to work with both of these gentlemen over the past several years.
Mr. Delaney would be an excellent County Commissioner representing, Chanhassen, Victoria, and Chaska. He is well respected, intelligent, a good listener and, most important, an innovative prob-lem solver.  Gary works hard to under-stand the issues and applies fairness to his decisions.
Critical to those of us in Western Carver County, Mr. Delaney can be counted on to be a true statesman for all of the residents of the county.  His posi-tions and decisions will be good for everyone.  It's high time to rise above petty disagreements and to be a positive influence for change.  Gary Delaney will be such a commissioner.
Bud Olson has been doing an out-standing job as Sheriff since taking office.  I feel he has been an excellent leader, guiding the Sheriff's Department through a very difficult period of growth and adjustment.
Working together with contract com-munities, Sheriff Olson has proved to be a skilled leader and an inventive public ser-vant who is attempting to make police service in Carver County the best it can be.  Change is never easy.
Sheriff Olson has gathered both experts and examples from other counties that have undergone the type of growth and change that Carver County will.  These experts and examples have helped us gain a clear understanding of what challenges and opportunities we face re-garding the future of law enforcement in Carver County.
Working together with other elected and appointed leaders, he will ensure that our new Sheriff's Department will be fair to contract communities yet cost effective for the taxpayer.
Most important, the new department will be up to the pubic safety challenges that will come with growth. I put my faith in Sheriff Bud Olson and his deputies to keep my community safe.  I think he de-serves another four years to continue the reforms he and his team have started.
Simply put, I offer my full support to these two gentlemen -- Gary Delaney for County Commissioner and Bud Olson for County Sheriff.  We citizens are blessed to have such high quality people who are interested in making a difference for our county.
Now more than ever we need innova-tive leaders who will work together to make sure that Carver County continues to be a wonderful place to work and live.  When the time comes to vote, I urge you to vote for them.  Make a positive state-ment.  Vote for Delaney and Olson
Sincerely yours,
Stephen T. Sarvi, Mayor
