Hook, Line & Sinker
by Sue Orsen

Dropping lines is what we do today more than at any other time in the history of the human race.  It began with lines drawn upon stone walls of cave dwellings and progressed to feather pens on papyrus.  The lines later were delivered by Pony Express and the United States Post Office, and today lines are dropped all over the world by email.
Email has made dropping lines second nature to us.  Only when I am dropping these lines here in this column do I think about fishhooks, however.  And so I did it again!  I put a fishhook on one of the pages in this issue of the Gazette, in a spot you would not expect to find it.
Last month Chris Brannon of Waconia had his name drawn from the minnow bucket to win the ten bucks.  Chris found the fishhook hidden in the center of the flower in the KleinBank coloring contest ad on page 4.  Your spring greenery will be on its way soon!
If you find the fishhook on a page in this issue of the Gazette, at the end of a line or anyplace else, you are invited to enter the monthly drawing.  Simply drop me a line telling of its location and sinker in the mail to P.Ol Box 387, Victoria, MN 55386 or drop a line at your computer to Sue@VictoriaGazette.com.
Think about the cave dwellers.  Think about the Dead Sea Scrolls.  Think about how the Irish saved civilization.  Think of the midnight ride of Paul Revere.  And thank you for thinking of and dropping lines to the Victoria Gazette.
