To the Editor: Happy Spring, Sue. Thank you for all of your hard work with the Victoria Gazette. With spring here, we're reminded how lucky we are to live in the "City of Lakes and Parks," and how blessed we are to enjoy and share these outdoor re-sources. But with these gifts, we should also remember our manners as citizens too. Would you be so kind as to remind read-ers about the importance of taking care of our outdoor spaces here in Victoria? Doing so enhances the beauty and value of our city and sets a good example for our community and for our children. What a bonus that is! Each year our neighborhood does an outdoor cleanup and we collect from 10 to 20 garbage bags of trash just in the area around our pond. Here's a chance to send a message about taking care of our community in Victoria. We hope you'll pass on the tips below with the hopes that all of Victoria can take a few minutes when they're out this season to be good stewards of our lakes and parks. *Don't litter, and pick up any litter you find. *If you fertilize, use phosphate-free fertilizer. *Scoop the poop. Pet waste pollutes our lakes. *Don't leave fishing line in lakes or trees. It entangles and drowns ducks and loons. Thanks as always, Sue, for sharing the word. Enclosed is a donation to help support the Gazette. Julie Brophy Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Sandy Langley's dad waits for her to bring the Gazette. I said you'd be happy to add him to your mailing list. He lives up at Pine Island. He is the guy who personally turned 35 dozen lefse in one sitting for Christmas . Sandy is the new city clerk here at Wazyata. Al Orsen Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Keep up the great work. I really enjoy getting the Gazette each month. It keeps me in touch with my old home town news. Sincerely, DianePfarr LeSueur, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am deeply saddened to report the death of Brian Robert Maass, age 29. He was killed in a car crash on March 31st. His folks are Diana and Bob Maass. He is also survived by grandmothers Janet Maass (widow of Alvin Maass and mem-ber of Lake Auburn Moravian Church) and Juliana Meyer. The funeral is at the Methodist church in Buffalo. To the Editor: Hi, Mom. Your new album pages online are great. What a keepsake you are creating. And your paper is great. I couldn't put it down. I read the feature about Paul Kohls straight through, and your editorial, and your Hook, Line, & Sinker column. And Father Bob was funny. It was funny that there was a letter to the editor about slalom versus salmon skiing. Fun to see Judy Gray's name in your letters section too. Fun to see Fr. E. mentioned in both the 20 and 10 Years Ago columns. Funny Eclectic Emails. Neat that you put Dad's turkey shot in. Very good. Very good. We love to spend time with you at the Mall of America. Thanks again to you and Dad for the great sushi and shoe-ies. Lots of love, Jenny Norgaard Northfield, Minnesota
To the Editor: This coming Wednesday, April 5th, at two minutes and three seconds after one o'clock in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06. This won't ever happen again for a long time … like, you'll be in the ground. Sharon Lauwagie Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I accidentally recycled the Gazette before writing down the date and time for the Eager Egg Hunt in Lions Park. Can you give me that information? I looked at the online edition of the Gazette but couldn't find it there either. Thanks. Mary Velazquez Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Wow! Thank you for the wonderful whole page write-up (our art display at the Field House) in the fabulous Victoria Gazette. I flew to Indiana last Thursday to visit my parents. Joe called me and said, "You will be amazed when you see what the editor did. That St. Victoria Choir really takes care of its own." I am delighted with the pictures, your layout, and the copy. Would it be possible to get about eight copies of the Victoria Gazette? See you Wednesday at choir. Georgia Kandiko Chanhassen, Minnesota
