To the Editor: This is just a quick thank you for the great photos you did of the Chamber's Business Expo in the April issue of the Gazette. I enjoyed the chance to get to talk to you at the Chamber meeting last night. I'm very excited to be a part of the Victoria Chamber of Commerce and look forward to all the wonderful things that will be accomplished in the future. Keep up the great work. Carol Notermann, Administrator Victoria Chamber of Commerce Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: We are back from France now, where we have spent part of January, February, and March visiting with my father and praying for him. He died on the 18th of March. He was 95 years old. I told many people in France about the movie The Passion of the Christ, hoping they would go and see it. My husband and I saw it twice. It was tre-mendous. Thanks for your wonderful column about it in the March Gazette. Hope the Victoria Fishing Contest was great. We were not able to go, but we delivered our Lighthouse fishing lights to be delivered to the Victoria firefighters. Keep up the good work. Jeannick Taylor Eden Prairie, Minnesota
To the Editor: We at First Student in Chaska recent-ly lost one of our own, a driver, Sarah Semrad, 26. Sarah and her husband Mike who also works at this location was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Sarah died as a result of the accident, leaving behind Mike and her two children Abby, 4, and Robert, 2. One of Sarah's favorite things was going to garage sales. We are organizing a garage sale in her honor, with all pro-ceeds going to her family. We are asking anyone interested to donate any items they have on hand. It will be held at our Chaska location on Saturday, May 8th, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Chaska First Student Bus Garage is located at 460 Hickory Street. Thank you in advance for your help and support of this family. Vickie Ehlen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I have enclosed a letter I sent to the Victoria mayor and several councilmembers about a possible dog park in Victoria. Could you please run it in the Gazette? If other people are inter-ested, it would be nice for City Hall to hear about it. Thanks ... We would like to propose that during the current planning stages the City of Victoria consider allocating some city land to be used as an off-leash dog park. This seems like an opportune time to plan for this park, as ample land is still avail-able. These parks are becoming common around the Twin Cities communities and give dog owners much needed secure space to exercise and train their pets and are great places for letting dogs socialize with other dogs. The cost to operate this type of park would be minimal, for fencing the area, mowing trails, a parking area, garbage and plastic pickup bags. We're sure that many people from around the area would utilize the park regularly and be willing to pay a small usage fee if necessary. Pam and David Rustad Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: A woman who is so ill as to require an abortion to save her life or health would never be put through the gruesome procedure of a partial birth abortion. I feel that mainstream medicine has lots its soul. Many of the so-called experts have forgotten the sanctity of life, the whole reason we went to medical school. The abortionists are hiding the truth. They know that partial birth abortion is only done electively, on healthy women, and for the sake of convenience. It is a barbaric thing to do to a baby. I pray for medicine to find its soul again and to stop the killing. How can our patients trust us if we endorse the slaughter of their children and grandchildren? To the Editor: Hello, Sue. John Fairburn here, son in law of Theresa and Norbert Derhaag. Debbie and I were visiting her folks yes-terday, and Norbert showed me the pictures you gave them. He asked if I would be able to fix a problem on one of the photos that got damaged with some-thing sticky on it. I told him I could rescan and retouch the images, but after I got home I thought you might still have the originals and was wondering, if you do have them and they are digital, could I get a copy of all four? If you don't, I can rescan them but thought I would see first. Thanks. John Fairburn Email
