To the Editor: Enclosed is a check for $10 for another year of your delightful paper. I really enjoy it. Found your fishhook in the General Store ad. It makes up one of the flower petals. You are so clever in hiding it. Doris Strom Excelsior, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks, Sue, for your wonderful paper. Enclosed is my $10. While going through some photos, snapshots, etc., a while ago, the article you did on Todd 15 years ago showed up. It was a great article. Thanks. And congrats to you and Allan on your first grandchild. She's a cutie. Grandkids are really special. Mine are a good part of my life. Thanks. Marie "Snip" Steinberger Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Enclosed is our $10 check. We enjoy each and every edition of your paper. In fact, it's more informative than some of the local papers. Also, we need more of a challenge to locate that fishhook. I wasn't even looking for it at the time and there it was in the General Store ad. It popped right out! Thanks. Shirley Carrier Waconia, Minnesota

To the Editor: The ice left Lake Auburn today, Wednesday, April 2nd, 2003. Last year it left on April 14th. The earliest ever was on March 8th, 2000. The latest since I have been recording it was on April 19th, 1996. Ron Holtmeier Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women would like to take this opportuni-ty to publicly acknowledge and thank our wonderful volunteers who give so self-lessly of their time and hearts to our organization. In 2002 volunteers gave over 8,000 hours and drove over 14,000 miles to help us serve victims of domestic violence in our community. The hours they contrib-uted equaled 7.5 FTE. Volunteers have always been heart of SVABW, and with the recent economic climate, the resources they provide are invaluable. Again, thank you to all who support us by investing yourselves in our work. You will never know how many lives have been positively affected by the work you do Bobbi Holtberg, SVABW Carver County/Scott County
To the Editor: From your April, 2003, Gazette, I saw a letter written by my classmate, Charlie Borak, and his wife. I must second the statements in their letter. Charlie and I graduated from Chaska High School in 1948, which is 55 years ago! It was members of our class who suggested the name Hawks for the Chaska mascot. I forget just who they were. Perhaps some of your readers can enlight-en me. I remember voting for the name, Hawks, in one of our student assemblies. There are several members of our class who are subscribers to your Gazette. For example, Marshall Odell, the brother of Mary Fazio of Escondido, CA, was also a classmate. Their mother Sophi was a Lenzen from the Chaska area. The Class of 1948 had 53 members and nine have passed on. Ron Holtmeier Victoria, Minnesota
