It was a most delicious gift. Thank you, Kathy and Mike Kraemer, for the halibut. I took it fresh from our freezer this past weekend and Allan put it on the grill for us, in foil with dabs of butter, drops of lemon juice, and dashes of seasoning. The large white filets were moist and meaty, tender and tasty, simply scrumptious! Mmmmm. Now we are definitely looking forward to our own trip to Alaska. I wonder if we'll be fishing. In any case, the restaurants will surely have fresh halibut on the menu. Do you think the plural is halibuts? Serene Wachholz of Norwood could probably tell us, excellent fishhook finder that she is. Yes, everyone else in the whole wide world also found the fish-hook hidden on page 38 of the April issue of the Gazette, in the flower petals of the General Store ad. This time it's not so easy! If you want a chance at the $10 drawing, find the hook hidden in this issue of the Gazette, drop a line to Box 387, Victoria, MN 55386 telling of its location, and sink it in the mail to me. Do it for the ten bucks or just for the halibut. Seems I've said that before. It's ringing a bell. Which reminds me, did you hear that joke about the bell ringer? The bell hit him in the face and he fell from the tower and went splatt on the sidewalk. A passerby looked at the dead body and said, "Gosh, that face sure rings a bell" ... or something like that.
