To the Editor Online: Hi, Susewiddanews! Next Tuesday, May 2nd, Father Bob (the Victoria padre) and Father Steve (the Chanhassen padre) are hosting a luncheon and tour of the new high school. So far, approximately 30 priests have RSVP'd. Should be quite a turnout! It starts with lunch at the St. Victoria Parish Center at noon. Thought you might want to alert your religious editors and your sky-cam operators. Jim Emmer,VP for Public Relations Holy Family Catholic High School, Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor Online: Typing the wrong e-mail address could cause serious harm. Consider the case of the Illinois man who left the snow-filled streets of Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day. When he reached his hotel he decided to send his wife a quick e-mail, but he missed one letter in her address and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher's wife whose husband had passed. When the grieving widows checked her e-mail, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and passed out on the floor. At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen: "Dearest Wife, Just got checked in. Everything is prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Always, Your eternally loving husband. P.S. Sure is hot down here." Howard Wigfield, Shakopee, Minnesota
To the Editor: I'm writing this to explain why I am re-subscribing to your Gazette. You see, ever since I picked up a free copy, as I was leaving Mackenthun's Grocery in Waconia, five years ago, when I lived in Cologne … I have been seriously and helplessly addicted to The Victoria Gazette. Reading about people I have never met, but feeling I know them really well … from poignant stories of the town folk, Jenny's nifty drawings … and how can I be weaned from the matchless humor of "Victoria Quotes" and dear "Germainisms"? Oh, yes, did I mention hunting for the elusive fishhook … which, by the way, this month is on page 10 on that poor bunny's ear, in the Beck Pharmacy ad! So I am sending you my check for $10 and hoping my habit can be indulged for another year. Thank you, Sue, for sharing your gifts of writing and superlative humor. Lotsa heart and soul! I really get excited seeing the Gazette in my mail box each month, especially since moving back to the Big City. I need something to remind me of Goodness. Also, I am in great sympathy with your community. That nasty, politically polluted school board! God bless you all in your endeav-ors. And please don't recommend treatment. Just keep sending me my "fix." Thank you. Love, Joan Clarno, Minnetonka, Minnesota
To the Editor: You sure have everyone going on the school issue. Victoria needs it's own school. A lot of development has provided Victoria with new citizens who deserve an education on their own turf. Keep it up! Bonnie Riegert, Eden Prairie, Minnesota
To the Editor: After getting our fill of turkey, dressing, eggnog, munchies, champagne, chocolate bunnies, and boiled eggs (burrrrp), we now can crank out the grill and get out the brats, burgers, hotdogs, lawnmowers, bug spray, and sandals. By the way, Mrs. Rabbit on page 10 in the April Gazette is sure "hooked" on her love bunny. Happy May Day. Kay Meuwissen, Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Just a note to let you know that the Carver County Fair dates are August 9th to 13th at the fairgrounds in Waconia. There's a great big parade planned for Sunday, August 13th, at 1 p.m. We've named it, "Celebrate the Millennium." Hope everyone participates. The Gazette continues to be a super new venue that reaches a very important audience for us. Thanks. Jan Albrecht, Watertown, Minnesota
To the Editor: We'd like to with Mike Poppitz and the Victoria baseball team good luck this season. For those baseball enthusiasts in Victoria who can't get enough baseball, come over to Shakopee this year and check out the new stadium and the Coyotes baseball team. The Coyotes will host the Carver Blacksox at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 25th, with an old fashioned Hog Roast following the game. Proceeds will go to the girls youth softball league. Gary Hartmann, Shakopee Coyotes Baseball, Shakopee, Minnesota
