To the Editor: The latest snowstorm may have caused traffic headaches and power outages but I do believe it also brought out a renewed "Minnesota nice" spirit in many of us. After the worst of the storm, several of our neighbors gathered to clear all the driveways on our block. I wish to sincerely thank everyone for such a gen-erous and thoughtful act. Recently I became physically disabled, so it was more than a kind gesture. Again, thank you. Ryan Hackbarth Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I would like to renew my Gazette. Enjoy your paper very much, especially your story about the Notermann Building in the December issue. I was employed there during my teens in '50's. I found the fishhook on page 21 in the baseball mitt Carol Weinzierl St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
To the Editor: A community blood drive was recent-ly held in the City of Victoria on Monday, January 22nd. It takes many dedicated volunteers from the community to prepare for and offer a blood drive. A total of 100 pints was donated. Special thanks to the recruitment callers, to the City of Victoria for the use of the Field House, and to the staff who helped in so many ways. We appreciate all those who helped on the day of the draw and a special thanks to the Victoria Lions for their continued sponsorship and support. They truly serve the community of Victoria and beyond. Thanks to everyone who made this blood drive a success. Without all of the volunteers and donors, this drive would not be possible. While the wait was long at times, your time and patience, as always, is greatly appreciated. Wendy Amundsen, Kathy Sether Co-chairs of Victoria Bloodmobile Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks for your interesting story on the Lake Auburn Home. It reminds me of the good old days at Victoria. The Hauwiller family farm was located where the entrance now is to Carver Park. We drove past the Lake Auburn Home every time we went to the St. Victoria Church, school, the Saturday night band concerts, and Notermann's Store. Thank you to the people who prayed for me about my back surgery. God's best blessings to all the Gazette readers. I am now working at St. Therese's Home in New Hope. Please change my address. Enclosed is $15 for my subscription for the new year. Sr. Lois Hauwiller New Hope, Minnesota
To the Editor: Bob and I enjoy the Gazette. Nice to know what is going on in Bob's home territory now that we don't get moving as easily as in past years. You are a wonder. Best regards. Found your fishhook, second time ever, on page 21 in the catcher's mitt. Bob and Betty Batzli Excelsior, MN 55331
To the Editor: A line in the first Grumpy Old Men movie was, "It's butt cold out and I'm fresh out of beer." I don't like beer or any other booze. A fuzzy navel or strawberry wine cooler is my extent of liquor. I'd make a lousy alcoholic! February has been a butt cold month. I hope March is more promising. Once the weather warms up, the fishermen will have a "ball" watching a softball game. May isn't too far away. The fishhook is on page 21 in the catcher's mitt. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for the check. You made my day when you called me "young lady" in the paper. Serena Wachholz Norwood, Minnesota
To the Editor: That softball glove sure was a nice place to hide the fishhook last month. This cold spell won't last long. Spring will be here soon. Have a good day. Keep up your great work with the Gazette. Marie Otten Waconia, Minnesota
