To the Editor: This letter is to inform you of the appointment of Mr. Steve Burke, past Holy Family Board member (1999-2005) and Board of Directors Chair (2001-2003), as Holy Family's Interim Presi-dent. Mr. Burke's services to Holy Family Catholic High School as Interim President began February 16th and will continue un-til the start of our next president, who will be selected in the coming months. Frank Miley will conclude his term as President on March 2nd, 2007. An individual who has been a great leader and visionary for Holy Family since its inception in the late 1990's, Mr. Burke has been actively involved with our school since 1999. As a founding Board member, Mr. Burke was instrumental in the structuring and execution of the school's founding mission. As a Holy Family parent to sons Mike '04 and Tom '06, he has witnessed the school's tremendous growth and commendable academics. In 2005, together with his wife Kathy, Steve was awarded the school's top honor, the Founder's Medal for their exemplary leadership and volunteerism. We enthusiastically welcome Mr. Burke to the Interim President position and thank him again for his gracious acceptance of this important role. Patrick Peyton, HFCHS Board of Directors Chair Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I was wondering if you could email the article you have written about Jason Roos. I was a friend to Jason in high school and after high school. I live out of state and I enjoy looking at your website, but I'm not sure if I can look at the full articles. If there is a way to look at the article through your website, could you please email me and show me where to go? Thank you. Also, please say Hi to Jenny for me. We played high school softball together for 3 years. Jenny was the best pitcher! Kathy (Thomas) Brown Hilliard, Ohio
EDITOR'S NOTE: I don't make all articles available online. I'd be happy to send you the complete January 2007 edition of the Gazette.
To the Editor: We just moved to Victoria in Decem-ber, and already we feel welcome and part of the community. We'd like to say thank you to some very special people, but do not know their names. Friday night, February 16th, our car slid off County Road 11 by the Lake Auburn Campgrounds, and a nice woman with two teenage girls stopped to help. Two more cars also pulled over, and all these people worked together, in the dark and snow, to assist us. I hope they read this letter and know how truly thankful we were that they cared enough to help us. This is exactly the reason we wanted to move to a small town ... big hearts! Gratefully, Libby and Fred McGraw Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Excuse my writing as I just had an operation on my right hand (carpal tunnel syndrome), a very bad case, and they had to go deeper than normal. I have very little feeling in my hands now. I can't lift or push, but I can carry some. I will be operated on my left hand as soon as my right hand heals up. My ankle is still store and swells up if I overuse the foot. Out-side of all this, I think that I'm in good shape. Hope to see you this summer. Whitey Wellens Davenport, Florida
