Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
Applause!  Bravo!  Superb!  Rave Reviews!  Outstanding!  Terrific!  Excellent!  Marvelous!  Nicely Done!  Star Performance!  Super!  Wow!
Thanks for the great article in the Gazette last month.  We have heard from so many people.  You did a great job.  Irving, our foreign exchange student, will surely get a kick out of it.  It was fun.  Thanks a bunch.

To the Editor:
Congratulations on that new little one in your family.  What a blessing.  Enclosed is my check for another year's subscription.  If I am not mistaken, it's time for me to renew, and I do enjoy the Gazette!  I found the fishhook on page 19 in the Cenex ad; it's part of the car.

Congratulations, Sue and Al, on your first grandchild, Sweet Adeline.  She sure is a cutie.  Happy Valentine's Day.  The fishhook is on page 19 in the Mid-County Cenex ad.

To the Editor:
Hello!  Enclosed please find $10 for the annual subscription to the Gazette.  Also, the February Gazette is so good I'd like to give a copy to a friend.  Could you mail one to us so we can hand it out?  Blessings.

To the Editor:
I would just like to express my dis-appointment with the Victoria City Council and one of their decisions at the Victoria Field House.  I do not believe the pricing of the memberships for residents is that reasonable.
After shopping around the area at different community centers and their costs vs. what they had to offer, we were shocked when we heard the price of almost $320 for a Victoria resident.  I believe it's over $400 for out-of-towners.
Just a little comparison ... Chaska charges out-of-towners $385 for a family; and now they have a $25 off special also.  In-towners pay $258.  What does one get in Chaska?  A workout facility, ice time, gymnasium.  Same as Victoria.  But Chaska also has racquetball, pool and slides, Jacuzzi, and numerous classes throughout the year.  Okay, anyone who has gone there knows that the workout facility in Chaska is pretty pathetic; and already seeing some equipment in Victoria puts Chaska to shame.
But do children really care how good a workout facility is, or how big the slide is in the pool?  How about lower prices at Victoria until a pool is built?  I don't know.  Will we join here in Victoria?  Probably.  We're just a bit disappointed with the Victoria City Council and their pricing decision.
Thanks, Sue.

To the Editor:
In 2001, Planned Parenthood referred one pregnant woman to an adoption agency for every 109 babies aborted.  Planned Parenthood's actions have spoken louder than anything it has claimed it stands for.  Planned Parenthood makes money on abortions, but nothing on adoption.  Americans also need to realize that Planned Parenthood is funded, in large part, by tax dollars.  People should contact their elected officials immediately and demand that their money stop going to Planned Parenthood.

To the Editor:
We are honored to have worked for Don Dahlke, county treasurer who retired after 44 years of dedicated service.  We appreciated his generosity, support, and appreciative words.  He always treated everyone as his equal.
To save taxpayer dollars, even though he was a department head, during our busy tax collection period, Don worked side by side with us, opening mail and processing tax payments.  Also, with his tax processing system, we were the first county in the state to have our tax pay-ments processed and invested each tax collection period.
We know that Don took great pride in his office and staff.  Without a doubt, he always did his best for the taxpayers of Carver County.
