Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
Greetings from the great Southwest!  Keep that newsy paper coming.  It seems there is always something exciting for you to report in your growing community -- a bit different from the sleepy, comfortable, little old hometown that I left about 50 years ago, a place dear to my heart.
Best regard to you and yours.

To the Editor:
I take your paper to Sturgeon Lake Cabin.  More reading time there.  A dear friend, Augie Geske, got me started and I really do enjoy your paper.  This entry in your Hook, Line, and Sinker Contest I'm sure is a little late to win any prizes, but keep up the good work!

To the Editor:
We will be moving to Victoria in August and we can't wait to be a part of this wonderful community.

To the Editor:
As a former Victorian, what can I say but, "thanks for the memories!"  Enclosed in my subscription renewal.

To the Editor:
Several years ago I got a copy of a book, PRINTS OF A PRIEST, by Father Elstan Coghill, OFM.  I have thoroughly enjoyed this exceptional book.  And as I read it I could pictures in my mind almost everything in it.
My family grew up knowing the Coghill family.  Our fathers shared some field work.  In those days, the 1930's, farmers helped each other out not always expecting pay or return.
My second youngest brother, Clem Gerold, (the last of six brothers), now lives in Shakopee and is in the last stages of total blindness.  Now, my question!  Is this book available on tape for the blind?  I know that Clem would really enjoy it.  If not, perhaps I will have sister in law read it to him.  He still refers to Jim Coghill instead of Father Elstan!
I do not have a phone number to call you.  Thank you.

PUBLSHER'S NOTE:  I don't believe Father E's book is on tape.  Sorry!  But I'm glad you enjoyed the book ... along with thousands of others, I might say.  (It's still available at amazon.com.)

To the Editor:
I must owe you some money for the Gazette.  Enclosed find $20 for myself and my aunt Armella Schroeder.  We were gone for three months this winter and that's why we missed your remittance envelope.  We certainly do enjoy your paper and so does my aunt.  Keep up the good work.
Found the fishhook on the first page in the Island View ad, down in the right hand corner.  Happy Spring!

To the Editor:
Those lazy hazy crazy days of summer are here, so well put by Nat King Cole.  Also the nonstop battle of the mos-quitoes and a profusion of other flying pests, and the usual don't-wear hairspray or perfume that the wasps love, or after-shave or cologne on the guys.  Wasps like that, too.  They're after sweet things.  Beer has sugar, too, for those party wasps!  The fishhook is on page 2 of the May Gazette in the Island View Dining ad.

To the Editor:
Love your paper and also finding the fishhook.  Isn't it great being a grandma?  We have two.  One is 2 and ¾, and one is 8 months, in Dallas.

To the Editor:
I am enclosing a check for $10 for the Gazette.  I look forward every month to receiving it.  I like the Scoop at City Hall.  I am glad to see Victoria is growing in such a nice way.  Keep up the good work.

To the Editor:
I want to send a special thanks to Father Bob, my family, and friends who remembered me with prayers, visits, cards, flowers, gifts, and food following my surgery.  Thank you all so much.
