From the Editor

  Amazing Grace,
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me,
I once was lost
But now am found,
Was blind but now I see.

I was lost six times this past month.  Wanna hear about it?
"I'm lost, Cindy.  I have no feature story for the Gazette yet, and I go to print in five days.  What ever shall I do?"

"I'd love to see pictures from your daughter's wedding," says Cindy.  "How long are you going to make us all wait?  Are they on your website yet?  When do we get to see them?"
"Thank you, Cindy," says I.  "I've been hearing those comments a lot.  Maybe that's just what I will do."
Cindy is a mainstay and friend these many years at the Crow River Press in Hutchinson where the Gazette is printed each month.  Among many important duties, Cindy helps maintain an accurate and up to date mailing list of now over 4,300 families and subscribers to the Gazette.  Thank you, Cindy, and others at Crow River Press, for all that you do for me.  Amazing Grace!

"I'm lost, Allan.  How do I get to Delano?  There's road construction and I followed a detour to this 'T' in the road."
"Where are you?" he asks, knowing that I am cruising with my cell phone.
"I'm on my way to McDonald's Studio in Delano to pick up photos of Jenny's wedding but there is construction work on Highway #7, you know, and the detours have brought me to #92.  Is #92 an important road in the scheme of things?  Should I go left or right or should I turn around and go back from where I came?"
The manly man replies, "Take #92 north and follow it to Highway #12.  Turn left, or west, on #12 and you'll end up in Delano."
I successfully find McDonald's Studio on Bridge Avenue in Delano and pick up the proof book from which I will be able to choose photos for this edition of the Gazette.  Thank you, Joe, for the great photos, and thank you, K.J., for the fantastic video.  We love it.  Amazing Grace.

"I'm lost, Webcom.  I can't retrieve any of my e-mails this morning and I'm expecting articles from many people for the Gazette, as usual.   I need the news to keep working.  It seems Webcom isn't giving me the necessary connection."
"What is your User ID?" asks Aaron, the support person from Webcom.
"And what is your Password," he asks.
I give him the private information so he can dig deeper and then he says, "Go to Tools and scroll to Accounts.  Click on Mail and then Properties.  Click on Servers and retype your Password.  Sometimes when you've installed a Virus Checker, you need to reinstall your password."
I follow his directions, perform the functions, and then my e-mail promptly arrives.  Thank you, Aaron and Webcom, for staying on your feet for so many people in the technical world.  Amazing Grace!

"I'm lost, Patty.  I want to mow the lawn but I think I just filled my lawn-mower with the wrong gas.  I noticed it was pink and last year it was green but I kept pouring it in anyway."
"Don't start it!" says Patty.  "Go get your turkey baster and suction all of the gas out of your mower, getting it down to the very last drop.  Then pour in the right gas and everything should be fine."
Patty is Bonnie and Stan's daughter at Prairie Lawn and Garden.  I was thankful for the advice, even when I learned that Allan used a pink oil for the gas mixture this year and I didn't have to use the turkey baster after all.  Amazing Grace!

"I'm lost, Jenny.  I took all the escalators to the fourth floor and I can't find the Odyssey.  Are you sure you gave me the right directions or did I goof up somewhere?"
"You took too many escalators," says darling daughter.  "Go down a level and turn right."
Walking with cell phones at the Mall of America is a life saver.  I see Jenny standing at the bottom of the escalator talking to me, waiting for me.  Our lunch at the Odyssey is out of this world.  Thank you, Jenny, for meeting your mama half way.  Amazing Grace.

"I'm lost, Nick.  Should I take
94 East or 94 West?  For some reason, those signs don't seem to be in the right place when I leave your house.  I want to go south from Maple Grove, not east or west."
"If you want to go to St. Cloud, Mom, then you go west."
"Nick!  You know I need to get home.  I've got work to do!"
"Then go east to catch 494 South."
"Thank you, son, for helping your mother.  You shall be rewarded."
I made it back to Victoria with plenty of time for everything.  Amazing Grace!

As you've noticed by now, getting lost is not a problem as long as you've got somebody to call.
