To the Editor:
Per our phone conversation, I'm sending you details of our blood drive.  Thanks.  Since there will not be another bloodmobile in Victoria until fall, this is an excellent opportunity for anyone in the Victoria area to donate blood.
The American Red Cross Blood-mobile is coming to Chaska on Monday, June 4th.  Supplies are low nationwide, and we need all the help we can get.  The draw will be held at the Chaska VFW, which is located one block north of Hwy 212 on County Road 10, from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.
We feed our donors homemade soups and assorted homemade bars and cookies.  Please come join us and become one of our heroes.  Call for an appointment or with questions:  Linda Riesgraf, 952-448-4914 or Linda Worm, 952-448-3815.
Linda Riesgraf, Chaska, Minnesota

To the Editor:
I enjoyed your articles in the May Gazette about Mary Jo and Dick Copeland and their Mary's House project.  I truly hope that the citizens of Victoria get behind this worthwhile endeavor.  I can't think of a better way to use our energy.  Are there specific ways we can all lend a hand and ensure success?  Thanks.

To the Editor:
Hello, Sue, and dear husband.  Just a short note to thank you for coming to Sharing and Caring Hands and Mary's Place.  The lovely article in your Gazette touched my heart, Sue.  The Spirit of God worked right through you.  I thank you for your support and love.  I know God and His mother will work on all the people in Victoria to help build this home for our children.  Hope to see you soon.
Mary Jo Copeland, Minneapolis, Minnesota

To the Editor:
Always in the Popeye cartoons, Wimpy craved hamburgers.  Wimpy always said, "I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today."  Island View's coupon is good on Tuesdays, Wimpy's favorite day.  Two burgers for the price of one make it even better for Wimpy and his pals ... who can even fish after chow.  The fishhook is supplied on page 35 on the hamburger bun.

To the Editor:
How ironic that I called to wish my mom a Happy Easter and got you instead.  I had cut the new area code out of the Gazette and put it in my phone book, so I looked at it and dialed 1-952-443-2010 and you answered.  I'm glad you told me who you were or I would have hung up saying I had the wrong number.
It was nice, or good, that I did dial your number so next time perhaps I'll recognize your voice.  I did get my mom on the next dial.  Mom is almost 92.  My dad died January 17th, 1998, almost 92.  Mom's doing pretty well.
Hope you had a nice Easter, and tell Reverend Elstan, "Hi."  I'm behind in letter writing and sometimes there's not much to write about.  Anyway, have a nice day and a Happy Mother's Day.  I probably won't call you though.
Delores (Splettssoesser) Goodridge, El Cajon, California

To the Editor:
Thanks for the subscription to the Victoria Gazette.  What a great news-paper.  I thoroughly enjoy reading up on the happenings of the City of Victoria.

To the Editor:
Prudential retired employees have two groups, one for having fun and the other for working.  Our working group is called the ROCS, Retirees Offering Community Service.  Many of our ROCS members, which includes Harriet and me, volunteer a big bunch of time at Sharing and Caring Hands.
Sharing and Caring Hands is one of our favorite charities where we donate clothing and other needed items.  I am told that they currently are badly in need of blankets and dishes.
Mary Jo Copeland has spoken to our PREA group (Prudential Retired Employees Association) several times and so has one of her daughters.  Mary Jo is a great lady, and I know there is a great need for her current project.

To the Editor:
I just clicked onto your website to see the photos you have available.  I clicked onto the Mary Jo Copeland album and was so impressed with the assortment of photos.  In case anyone hasn't visited Sharing and Caring Hands in downtown Minneapolis, they could just click and view what it's all about at your site.
I was impressed with how clean and organized the entire operation is.  I have confidence that if we are fortunate enough to have Mary Jo locate her orphanage in Victoria, it would be run with the same orderliness and cleanliness that she insists on at Sharing and Caring Hands.
Thanks for a great website.
Nan Emmer, Victoria, Minnesota, via e-mail
