To the Editor: We're back in Chaska again. Please send the paper here. We didn't get last month's Gazette and we really missed it. It's the best paper in the county. We had a fun winter in Texas, as usual. Love ya, Audrey and Al Tholen, Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Larry Hanson expired at home on May 5th, 2000, a victim of cancer. He was 56 years old. He thoroughly enjoyed reading The Victoria Gazette and keeping up with his hometown, even though he had moved away from Victoria 32 years ago. I, not being from Victoria or that area, did not share his interest in the Gazette. Additionally, I'll be moving from his 25-year-old mailing address by the end of the month. Thank you and the Gazette staff for keeping Larry pleasurably informed throughout the years. Marilyn Hanson, Lucas, Texas
To the Editor: We forget things easily these days. Our apologies for the tardiness of our renewal of your wonderful paper. Your words in the May Gazette about those loving caregivers, Allan Sauter and Jerome Zanger, are so appreciated. What examples they set for all of us. Father Bob's words are a treasure. Thank you. Bob and Mary Jane Ploof, Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Enclosed is a check for $20, if you could please renew my subscription, and also add my sister Tracy at Sagimore Hills, Ohio. This check will help the out of state family members of Willie and Jean keep track of what's happening in Victoria and what they are up to. I look forward every month to receiving the Gazette, and I know Tracy and Tim will feel the same way. Thank you. Barb Bongard, Kentwood, Michigan
To the Editor: I absolutely love the Victoria Gazette. I asked my mom when it comes out next and she said at the beginning of the month. I said, "Well, Sue should have it come out every two weeks!" I'm usually the first one to look through the paper and my favorite sections are the "Quotes" and Father Bob's article. You are doing an absolutely won-derful job on the paper and everything else. Keep up the good work. Love, Kyra Schindler, Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Always enjoy the Gazette, as do the rest of your readers! Because I recognize some names of your readers and especially those in the Chaska graduating "Class of '42," I'd like to inform them that a very loving member, Livy (Don Livingston), had quad heart surgery last fall. After a year's planned trip to Maui, it was touch and go, but Livy made it in March along with relatives to celebrate his and Shirley's 49th wedding anniver-sary, along with his sisters' 50th and our 56th. It was really a recuperating vaca-tion for him, and he is still recuperat-ing. If you would like to call or drop a line, the number is 952- 474-9587. Address: 820 Santa Vera, Chanhassen, MN 55317. God bless. Mrs. Wm (Jean) Seamans, Tonka Bay, Minnesota
To the Editor: A private ski course should not be installed in a public lake. Why go through a study of lake quality and sub-sequently approve a ski course? Wouldn't the taxpayers, who are funding this study, wonder what's going on? The residents of Victoria are in no way obligated to facilitate the use of an obstacle course to home competitive skills. Government is of, by, and for the people, and benefits should be for the majority. Here on Schutz Lake it accrues to a few, to three families and their friends. The City of Victoria should spell out exactly what is required for anyone on any lake within its jurisdiction. This would eliminate the need for yearly approvals and help eliminate hard feelings between lake residents. Ken and Sonja Huber, Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor Online: I would like to subscribe to The Victoria Gazette. Could you e-mail me the necessary information? We used to live near Victoria, and I would like to get a sample of the changes that have taken place in the past 40+ years. I can't think of a better place than the local newspaper to sample what's going on currently. Thanks. Tom Fink, Cottonwood, Arizona tafco@espeedaz.net
