Maybe I shouldn't spread the word about our new fishing hole on Lake Zumbra that is so full of sunnies even a 2-year old can catch them. But I'm not your typical fisherman atoll, in case you don't already know it, so I'm inclined to divulge everything. Allan likes to fish and he has many exotic fishing trips to Canada to prove it, and so do our son Nick and son in law Christopher like to fish. You are permitted to your own definition of "exotic" because such definition is subjective and relative to your own experience. Allan finds a tent pitched under the stars to be exotic. Conversely, I find a motel with hot water and a mattress to be exotic. The ultimate truth is that there's nothing quite like home. If you want to throw in a five-star Bed and Breakfast at the edge of the Smokey Mountains or a villa on the Pacific at Puerto Vallarta or the Sea of Cortez at Cabo San Lucas, fine. I'll take it. As I've stated, the meaning of "exotic" changes with the tide and the times, unlike the deep waters of truth and taxes. But let's remain for the moment in the shallowness of shifting sands … which can be found right here in Victoria at the end of Park Drive. When Miss Addie Sue caught her first fish a couple weeks ago, she literally jumped up and down on the dock with glee. The next dozen sunfish weren't as exciting to catch, as you can see from the photo, but we kept on track and it was caught on film. Simply go to Sue's Album at www.VictoriaGazette.com and scroll to the bottom. Staying on track counts a lot, especially when it comes to finding the fishhook that is hidden in each every issue of the Victoria Gazette. This time the lucky winner is RaeAnn Reinhardt of Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Her name was drawn from the minnow bucket and her $10 prize will be on its way shortly. The fishhook was hidden in the robin on Jerry Chapman's ad on page 36. Congratulations, RaeAnn. Another fishhook is hidden in this July edition of the Gazette. If you can find it, drop a line to Box 387, Victoria, MN 55386, tell-ing of its location, and sinker in the mail. Your name will be put in the minnow bucket until the drawing at the end of the month. Good luck. Spread the good word. Divulge the truth. Be exotic. Above all, don't fall off the dock.
