To the Editor: Congratulations on 25 great years as editor of the Gazette. It has been a great gift to Victoria and a lot of fun to boot. You've done real good. All the best to you. Father Bob White St. Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I read your Gazette cover to cover. It is such a day brightener. Keep up the great job. Barb Miller/Edward Jones Office Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: It was wonderful to have heard from you indirectly through your emails with Veronique. I appreciated your care and prayers. I was operated on May 28th and went home five days later. My only restriction is to not pull any weeds or lift more than five kilos. I feel good except for a cough, maybe plural effusions or fluid in the lungs, hurting my incision. I praise God for His faithfulness, the power of prayer in action, as my health springs forth speedily. God bless you always. Jeannick Taylor Eden Prairie, Minnesota
To the Editor: Attached is a photo from the Vehicle Fair we had here at the Field House on Thursday night. Crop it however you like. I thought it might be nice to put it in the next issue of the Gazette. Thanks. Tammy Abrahamson Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Please review the following request to place our team photo in the next possible editions of the Victoria Gazette and the Chaska Herald as we won our baseball tournament last weekend and qualified for two state tournaments. We've provided some copy, a photo, and a listing of names for you. Feel free to call me if you have questions or need more information. Thank you. Todd Bentley
To the Editor: Hi, Mom. Not doing too much. Just got back from fishing in the Boston Harbor. Caught quite a few Striped Bass. It is a great trip. Talk to you when I get back on Sunday. I lost my cell phone so I am not able to call, but they do have high speed wireless internet in the hotel, so it is just as easy to check email. Leaving to go out again. Later. Love, Nick via email
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. The Boatman family is having a reunion in Menominee, Michi-gan, on Saturday, July 17th. I would like to invite Joe and Sue Boatman but I do not have their current address. My wife Carol from Holy Family Catholic High School found out that your Allan is a first cousin to Sue Boatman so I have a favor to ask. Do you have an email address or telephone number for them? Thanks. Les Boatman Eden Prairie, Minnesota
To the Editor: The Buick Scramble Local Cham-pionship at Deer Run is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 10th. The tournament, which is open to the public, marks the first step for teams to attempt to qualify for the Buick National Championships in Orlando in October, where Tiger Woods is scheduled to pre-sent the trophies to the national cham-pions. Interested teams continue to have the opportunity to register for the local cham-pionships in the Deer Run Golf Shop. For additional information on the Buick Scramble Local Championship at Deer Run Golf Club, your readers are invited to contact the pro shop at 952-443-2322 or visit www.buickscramble.com. To the Editor: While looking for John Flora (Retired LTC) on the internet, I found your pictures in Sue's Album with John and Jan on the Mississippi, at the Officer's Club, and in Alaska. Could I impose upon you to contact John for me? Tell him that (former Captain) the guy who ran the Fort McCoy Ski Hill he and his family used to frequent in the late '70's is trying to contact him. Email is okay. If his interest is piqued, you might also tell him that a ski buddy of his, Frenchy Verrier, lives within spitting distance of me. I appreciate your help. Thank you. Bob Haagenson Fort George G. Meade, Maryland
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Those of your readers who are about my age or older will remember that Victoria had a blacksmith shop run by C.L. (Kelly) Drew. His shop was next to the Braunworth Hardware Store, across Old Highway 5 (current Stieger Lake Lane) from Notermann's Store. For a while, the Drews lived in Victoria's dance hall, which later became the buiding for Karl Thiede's locker plant. The three Drewe boys attended District #16 School with me in the late 1930's. The oldest boy Donnie was a pitcher for the Victoria and Carver base-ball teams. Recently Harriet and I were invited to a Drew family reunion in Edina and, after over 60 years, I saw most of the family again. Donnie is retired and lives in Aitkin. Harvey farms near Hanover. Bobbie is a financial consultant in Janes-ville, Wisconsin, and is married to the sister of Darlene Luebke from Waconia who is retired from Prudential. Bobbie looks just like his dad, very dark with brown eyes. Ron Holtmemeier Victoria, Minnesota
