To the Editor: Sorry we didn't get our reminder envelope for the wonderful Gazette. It must have slipped out in the mail, so enclosed is our annual subscription, Sue, did you know that one of our very own, Dan Haugan, son of Linda and Dan Haugan who lived in Victoria in the 1980's, was ordained a priest on May 31st at the Cathedral of St. Paul? We went to his Mass of Thanksgiving on June 1st at St. Agnes Catholic Church in St. Paul. Wow! We were treated to the Minnesota Orchestra and Chorale doing Joseph Haydn, Pauken Mass. It was incredibly beautiful. It was like life standing before the Gate of Heaven. Father Dan's parish is Immaculate Heart of Mary in Glen Lake and he is also the new chaplain at Holy Family Catholic High School right here in Victoria. We are very proud to have our two eldest grandsons going to Holy Family. One will be a senior and one will be a freshman. Bonnie Fritz Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I read with interest Representative Paul Kohl's "Common Sense Law" article in your June issue of the Gazette. Rather than lacking common sense, our forebears understood, in my opinion, that catas-trophic injuries were often the result of a combination of unlawful, negligent acts by several wrongdoers. Rep. Kohl's new law, in my opinion, will short innocent victims rather than make solvent wrongdoers (and their insurance companies) pay more than "their share" of their collective damage bill. It's sort of like shorting the innocent waiter when somebody in your dinner party doesn't bring enough cash to cover their share of the tab. Dan McInerny Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Is there a way, other than a page by page and word by word reading, to locate the Victoria Gazette issue with a "Fifty Years Ago" story about a 1944 transfer of Neil Nordberg from the Victoria school to (Chaska) Guardian Angels school? I believe the mention was included within a World War II reminiscence, or similar news summarized 50 years later, probably in the mid 1990's. I'd like to know if that Neil Nordberg is my relative, as I lived in Victoria at the time but did not know him. Thanks for any reply. The Nordberg house south of the Victoria House (the former Feedmill) was built by my grandparents about 1939, and I lived there in the '60's. The flagpole in our yard, fabricated by the Notermanns, was the tallest in town at the time. Rod Nordberg Golden Valley, MN
To the Editor: I'm excited to see your pictures from visiting Father Elstan. I hope I'm that fun when I'm 80 years old. We had so much fun seeing him and it sounds like you did too. Take care. Donna Brown-Fort Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Mom. I checked your website again and everything looks good. All your links are working. I can't even tell that you made the icons on your home page a little smaller so it all fits better. That's good. Your new pages in Sue's Album are very good. It's funny that in one of the captions you've got Father Elstan staying that you get lost sometimes. Fr. B's page is good, too. And I simply had to peek again at Miss Adeline's Maiden Voyage. What a little darling dear of a granddaughter you have. Love, Jenny XOXOXOXO
To the Editor: Hello, Sue. I want to thank you again for the fast work in getting the Guardian Angels School ad in the June issue of the Gazette. It looked fantastic! Mark Kelly Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am sitting here listening to the thunder and finally took time to look at your pictures in Sue's Album. Miss Adeline looks like she will take to boating real well. She is so cute. Looks like you had a very nice day to be on Lake Minne-tonka again. Wish you could have stayed longer last Friday when you stopped by with Jenny and Addie. You must have made it back to the Cities okay. Meanwhile, I finished weeding my raspberries. Ugh. Talk to you later. Take care. Love, Your sister Nancy Ghent, Minnesota
To the Editor: Your e-mail of the Father Elstan and Father Bernardine photos and story was sent to the Sacred Heart Province. I might add that I found your pictures, and pages, very enjoyable. Brother Jack St. Louis, Missouri
