To the Editor: Congratulations, Victoria residents, on the groundbreaking of your new Victoria Field House. You should all be extremely proud of the leadership that Rick, Jerry, Dave, Mary, Gordy, and your city staff have shown. I have never seen a group with better vision, greater passion, and with as strong a commitment to inclusion, as your leadership has shown in this process. Their vision of a place to gather and play will have a great long-term positive impact on the community. Their passion for all residents, kids, and adults having a place to enjoy and be healthy, is very strong. And their goal of including all of your neighbors -- Chaska, Waconia, and Minnetonka -- in your "community" was very important to the viability of the project. I hope everyone watches the con-struction of your new facility and enjoys the Field House for many years to come. Future residents and generations will always look back fondly at your 2001-2002 city leadership and be grateful what it accomplished for the Community of Victoria. Mike Ayres, Oppidan Investment Company Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: I will be filing for the Carver County Treasurer's position. I would like to come in and personally meet with you to intro-duce myself. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master's Degree in Business Administra-tion, and I was a CMA (Certified Manage-ment Accountant) from 1978 to 1997. I was raised on a dairy farm in Chanhassen with my parents, Harold and Leona Kelzer Kerber, along with five brothers and two sisters. I am a graduate of Chaska High School and served six years in the United States Naval Air Reserve. I will call you to set up a time. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for your help. Thomas Kerber, Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Your May issue of the Gazette con-vinced our church leadership that Faith Lutheran Church ought to be participating in the Business Expo that will probably be held next year. Who should we contact in this regard? And do you have an estimate of the cost for a booth? Thanks. Did the Gazette have a display, too, or are you well enough known that it wasn't neces-sary? Pastor Arnold Lemke, Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Sue, you are amazing! Thank you for getting my ad in the June Gazette on such short notice. That does sound like a miracle! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Lee Ann Paradise, Feng Shui Specialist, Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I just wanted to tell you I looked at The Wedding pictures you put out on your website, and they are just great. I loved all of your comments and captions. I then spent about a half hour browsing your site, and I just love your writing. I liked the editorial about "I'm lost." I even read some of The Archive editorials. Deanna Lind, Shoreview, Minnesota To the Editor: I am retiring from the Legislature instead of running for another term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. My oldest daughter was six years old when I was first elected to the House, and now she is 16. My wife and I have had three more kids since then, and our youngest, Tommy, just turned five. I want to be there to watch him grow up. I've got a family and a business career, and when you're at the Capitol, those are forced to take a back seat. After ten years my wife told me, "It's time to get your butt back home," and I agree. Thanks to all of my colleagues at the Capitol. Thanks for the memories. Thanks to my supporters for helping me get elected five times, and to all of the hard working taxpayers of Victoria, Chan-hassen, Eden Prairie, Tonka Bay, Minne-tonka Beach, Orono, and Shorewood for allowing me to serve you in the Minneso-ta House of Representatives. It was an honor. Tom Workman, Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: Your fishhook is at the bottom of the student's desk in Kyra Schindler's article. This a great test for old eyes! I love it. Please don't ever drop it from your paper. Gwen Passe, Excelsior, Minnesota
To the Editor: Just in case you're curious, here is my new e-mail address. I got your paper last Thursday, which was the day after it was printed I think. Best delivery ever, and a good paper as usual. Haven't seen your website yet. I will try to look later. Your son, Nick Orsen, Maple Grove, Minnesota
