The Notermann Building.  Pastor Ken Kotzer, who has left Mount Olivet Church-West Campus in Victoria, asked me to send you this postcard.  Thank you.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Thank you for the "new" photo of Victoria's Notermann Building.  It is one that I have not seen before.  Interesting to note the dirt street, the hitching rail where people tied their horses in front of the store, the wood building next to Notermann's (Was it the old Fire Hall?), the silhouette of a horse's head in front of that building and also the old-style telephone pole with the old glass insulators, glimpses of goods in the large "street" windows of the store, the recessed center entrance area to the store, and the knee-level promotional sign out front that reads "Notermann and Son Groceries, Dry Goods, and Shoes" - a repeat of the words on the retracted awning.
The other side of the card, which is postmarked "November 17th, 1913, p.m., Victoria, Minn," bears a 1-cent stamp with a profile of President George Washington.  The postcard is addressed to Mr. Alois Kerber, Chanhassen, Minn.  The correspondence is signed and reads, "Please let me know when you are coming up to bail my boy.  Call Notermann's Store as soon as you get this card.  Would like to have you at once."

Happy 70th Birthday, Dorrie.  Dorrie was born in Victoria, one of several children of Ben and Hilda Wartman.  Her siblings include Mary Moore of Victoria, Sister Eleanor of St. Paul, Phabe of Shorewood, the late Euch Wartman of Victoria, and the late Rich Wartman of Chaska.  We love you, Mom.
