According to Beth Nash, Public Affairs Coordinator for the Three Rivers Park District, "Nothing in the agreement prohibits development, but it is shoreline and we like to protect shoreline.  There are no plans for any development but there are considerations at this time for a trail connection because people do love that area."
In other words, life will go on.  Memories will continue to be made and passed on to future generations.  Lives will continue to be touched, hopefully in good ways.  Out with the old and in with the new - it's just the way things are sometimes.
