Tom and Dick.  Here's a photo of Tom Stumpf (of Victoria) and Dick Ertl (of St. Victoria) and some possible captions for this picture.  "Friends are the root of Christmas."  Or maybe "Beneath every Christmas tree is the spirit of the season:  friendship."  How about "Where can I find one of those hats?"  Consider also, "Strange but true:  Christmas tree stands gone wrong."

EDITOR'S NOTE:  How about, "Calling Harry!"

Reward.  Lost-stolen dog.  Missing since November 19th, north of Waconia.  Black lab, "Bumper."  16 months old.  Very long tail and ears.  Muscular.  Had collar on at time of disappearance.  952-367-6833 or 952-367-6831.

A Ton of Food.  During the month of December, employees of HEI in Victoria collected 2,534 pounds of food for the Carver County Food Shelf in Waconia.  Heather Scott and Jay Ellingboe organized the event and the results were spectacular.  A competition between departments gave a boost to the effort.  Overall, seven teams contributed to the effort.

Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot?  No.  And neither Should Gnu Acquaintance Be Forgot.  The choir at St. Victoria here in Victoria includes people of both auld and gnu acquaintance.  Many of them gathered at the editor's house for a Christmas party on the evening of December 22nd.  How many do you recognize?  Those three little singers in the corner represent several choir members who couldn't be part of the party.  This annual gathering on Lilac Lane, Victoria, is now in its 25th year.  Is it terribly trite to ask, "Where has the time gone?"
