To the Editor: Just a short note to thank you for sending me an extra Gazette. Leon and I came with members of the St. Boni Choir to see your Christmas Concert at St. Victoria in December. We both sing with the St. Boni Choir. I wanted to introduce my husband to you but too many people in a small place. Then we went to the Victoria House and thought maybe you would be there, but I'm sure you were tired from your piano work. Your concert was beautiful. We all loved it. Leon found the fishhook on page 30 in the December Gazette, on the loon. You know he usually finds it and doesn't give up till he does. He loves the Gazette and so do I. He's a Lion and know your husband. Thank you. Carol Maas St. Boni, Minnesota
To the Editor: I'm writing this letter to thank the people of Victoria for allowing me to be their city councilmember for the last 12 years. They were the best 12 years of my life. Serving Victoria gave me a passion I can't describe. I loved every day I served. I'm one of the lucky ones who lived here when Victoria was truly country. I would like to say a special thanks to the people who wrote letters supporting me in the election. It's people like you who make being a councilmember worth all the effort I put in. I also want to thank everyone who wrote me, called me, or sent emails ex-pressing their feelings about my loss. I was awed that people would think that highly of me. I wish the new council well and hope they never forget what a great honor it is to serve on the Victoria City council and to always treat the people of Victoria as their customers. Dave Lindgren Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: As a member of the Waconia Heri-tage Association, I am calling attention to statements by Ron Holtmeier in your December edition of the Victoria Gazette. See correspondence (To the Editor) relat-ed to the historic significance of Andrew Peterson's homestead, now called Rock Isle Farm. If this acreage, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, is to be annexed to the City of Victoria, city officials and developers should consider an appropriate name for this site along Parley Lake Road. This property, as well as part of the Hennepin County Park Reserve to the east and the Regional Park to the west, exists in the heart of the extinct settlement form-erly known as Scandia. Thank you, Sue, for keeping the public informed about people and events in this rapidly growing area. Jo Mihelich Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you so much for your support and friendship this past year. It is an honor to represent District 34A in the Minnesota House of Representatives, and I could not do it without your help. From my family to yours, Happy Holidays. Rep. Paul Kohls Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: The CAP Agency asks people to remember their neighbors who are less fortunate. Every day at the CAP Agency, we see families who are working one, two, and even three jobs just trying to keep on top of their bills. We see workers who have lost their jobs. We see grandparents who can't make their checks stretch far enough to cover housing, food, and medications. We see people who don't have warm winter clothing and can't pay their heating bills or repair a faulty furnace. We see families with no homes. The CAP Agency helps people meet their basic needs and then plan for a brighter future. All donations to the CAP Agency are 100% tax deductible. Thank you for your ongoing support. We feel truly fortunate to do our work in a com-munity that cares about its neighbors. Mary Sullivan, Executive Director 712 Canterbury Road South Shakopee, MN 55379
To the Editor: We are thankful for all of the success, accomplishments, and generosity that Holy Family Catholic High School has been blessed with over the past year. Generosity from our parents, alums, friends, and businesses has been a vote of confidence in our efforts to provide the very best in Catholic education and is an investment in our students and their potential to become tomorrow's leaders. Gifts to our Annual Fund help bridge the gap between our reduced tuition price of $8,250 and the actual per pupil cost of $11,300. This reduced tuition eases the burden on families who would like the opportunity to attend a Catholic high school and allows us to continue offering the best educational experience. We remain committed to preparing young men and women to be compassion-ate, responsible, faith filled people capable of making a positive difference in the world today. Thank you to those who continue to invest in and support Holy Family Catholic High School. Frank Miley, President Holy Family Catholic High School 8101 Kochia Lane Victoria, Minnesota
