City Scoop Jan. '04 continued

*Abdo, Eick, and Meyers will receive $17,000 plus out of pocket expenses from the city to perform the annual audit of financial records for the year ending December 31st, 2003.
*Area businesses have now pur-chased 65% of the dasher boards, behind the bench, and wall panels available for advertising at the Victoria Field House.
*Councilmembers created a Water Availability Charge in the amount of $3,000 per unit, and reduced the Water Core Charge to $2,000.  In fact, this is a separation of one existing water charge of $4,500 -- plus a $500 increase.
*A survey will be prepared and mailed to all Victoria residents along with a self addressed envelope to assist the city in assessing park and recreation needs.
*Councilmembers accepted the donation of three TV's for the Fitness Center at the Victoria Field House from the group that sponsored Victoria On Ice at the grand opening last spring.  Nan Emmer and Mary Meuwissen were noted for doing a great job on the show.
*Staff was authorized to upgrade software and memory on the Victoria Parks and Recreation computers at a cost of $1,011. 43.
*Council approved the purchase of a "used broom, cozy cab with heater mount-ed and snow blower for an amount not to exceed $5,325."  The equipment will be used for snow removal on sidewalks.  The city's bobcat is too wide to get around the street signs..
